David was well aware of Theodore's punishment; Peter had briefed him on it, and instructed him not to admit the truth to Metanoia should she ask him, and neither should any of the Lost Boys. By now, all Lost Boys have heard of the news, and they didn't even need any pointers to understand what was happening; Metanoia refused to go anywhere near Theodore for the past three days, and the Lost Boys were appalled by Theodore's deceit. No one saw it coming, and of course they wouldn't, because the boy deeply cared for her, but Pan deliberately destroyed the budding romance between them, as well as upset the Lost Boys with him.

As David left his treehouse this morning, his eyes immediately detected Metanoia downstairs, serving food for the Lost Boys with Jacob and Jeremy. He instantly climbed down his ladder and approached her, waiting for her to notice his presence. Metanoia nodded along to a comment Jacob had made, before her vibrant, blue eyes landed on David, and she hesitantly nodded at him in greeting. David smiled warmly at her, which took the girl a bit by surprise.

"Morning, Noia." He spoke gently, and Metanoia cleared her throat awkwardly, before placing a scoop of baked beans onto his plate.

"Good morning." She acknowledged.

David watched her prepare his plate for him, and when she moved to hand it to him, her purposely brushed his hand against hers. Her eyes immediately fell on their hands barely touching, and he brought his face closer to hers, speaking lowly, "I'm sorry about what Theodore had done. None of us can even wrap our heads around how your boyfriend could even betray you like that."

Metanoia didn't bother hiding her cringe when she mumbled weakly, "He wasn't my boyfriend."

David maintained eye contact with her, tilting his head to the side, "No?"

Metanoia pursed her lips and glanced at Jeremy for help, but the boy was too invested in 'perfectly cooking' the eggs, and she sighed. "No, we weren't. But ... we were ... something."

David nodded, faking a sympathetic smile, and added, "Well, I'm still sorry you had to go through that."

Metanoia stared at him quietly for a few seconds, before murmuring, "I always thought it would be you who would snitch on me to Pan."

David laughed quietly. "I know you and I haven't always been on the best of terms, Noia, but one thing I am not, is a snitch."

Metanoia finally allowed a small smile to rest upon her face, and whispered, "Well, that's good to know."

David opened his mouth to speak, but was sharply interrupted by Pan's cold voice hissing, "Fuck off, David. I need a word with Metanoia."

David jumped startlingly, and whipped around to find Pan scowling at him, a ferocious glare in his eyes directed towards the Lost Boy, who nodded vigorously and took his breakfast plate to walk away. Pan watched the boy retreat to find Felix, Denzel and James, before stepping towards Metanoia and finally regarding her. He was a little surprised to find her smiling at him amusedly, causing him to snap defensively, "What're you smirking at?"

Metanoia shrugged casually, and retorted, "I just find your unreasonable anger funny sometimes. Breakfast?"

Pan shook his head wordlessly, and Metanoia frowned suspiciously, before remarking, "I've never seen you eat. How are you still alive?"

Pan rolled his eyes. "A mortal's food is simply not a necessity to an immortal like me."

Metanoia raised her eyebrows in intrigue. "It isn't?"

"That's right."

Metanoia squinted at him. "Then what do you feed on?"

Pan glanced at Jacob and Jeremy who were within close proximity, before he stated flatly, "Perhaps i'll let you know another time."
