My heart felt with joy at the thought of having a child, at the thought that Serah was going to be the mother of my children

I loved children, and thinking I was going to have one soon made me feel ecstatic

I looked at the woman sitting beside me eating the food she craved with gusto, I had ordered three burgers for her just in case she decided to wake me up again

Was she really pregnant? What if I was just being delusional and in my head, maybe my desperation for wanting kids was clouding my judgement

We were currently seated on our bed leaning against the headboard, Serah was eating her chicken burger while I waited for her to finish

I wanted to sleep but she stopped me, reason being she didn't want to be the only one awake in the middle of the night

"What do you think about having children" I asked

"Huh" she looked at me "that's so random" she said biting her burger

I chuckled and looked at nothing in particular

"I guess it is" I mumbled

That wasn't the answer I was looking for, I thought she'd give me a smile and tell me she was down

But then we never talked about this, still I wanted to know how she felt about us having children

"Well" she leaned her head on my shoulder "I'd love to have children some day" she said

"It'd be fun seeing little Serahs running around the house" I smiled

"Giving the maids headaches" she giggled

We stayed silent for a few seconds before she spoke

"I'd love to be mother" she muttered "but the thought of having a protruding tummy kind of scares me"

"You know I'll always be there each step of the way"

I felt her nod as she bit her burger

"Do you want children?" she asked after a while

"I do, I'm tired of being an uncle" I joked

"Then we could plan on making one" she leaned her chin on my upper arm and looked at me

I smiled showing my teeth, she had no idea how excited and happy that sentence made me feel

"Let's do that" I nodded at her

She smiled back at me before she went back to chowing her food, we soon sat there in silence waiting for her to finish up

My head tilted to my phone, the time read 02:34

I sighed

I could feel exhaustion on every inch of my body, yesterday was the busiest of all days. I was down chasing a lead Liam had tipped me while he used his own way of finding information

It was exhausting but I didn't want to rest until I got this anonymous guy

The longer I invested my time in searching the more things got harder, if not for Serah I'd have lost my mind completely

She was the one keeping me sane

My eyes slowly closed but I opened them before they shut completely, the action repeated itself several times

I felt my neck tilting down but suddenly it jolted at my ringtone, I was wide awake, my eyes rolled to my ringing phone

I sighed as I read the caller ID, Liam was calling
