1 month later, December 24th
Claire's POV
"Mommy, wake up" Zealand jumps on my bed
"What is it, Zealand?" I ask him as he continues jumping
"Its Christmas" he yells and I groan
"I told you tomorrow was Christmas, go back to bed" I tell him
"I can't Mommy, I'm already awake" he says and I sigh
"Ok, fine, you can lay with me" I tell him and lays down and curls into a ball and I wrap my arms around him as he rests his head on my chest.
"Mommy?" Zealand asks
"Yes bubba?" I say in return
"When is Daddy coming to live with us?" He asks
"Idk bubba" I say, I was too tired to keep a conversation with my almost 5 year old
"Ok Mommy" he says and goes quiet.
We fall asleep and I wake up to yelling in the room next to me. It was Haven yelling my name. I get up and Zealand is still asleep. I quietly close the door and go down the hall. I open the door and see her standing up in her crib
"Good morning sunshine" I say, picking her, I could smell her diaper "looks like someone needs a diaper change" I say and put her on the changing bed. I change her and get her dressed in her little snowman shirt and red pants. I look at the clock, it was 8:30.
I take her downstairs and put her in her highchair and make her some pancakes and I cut them in small pieces. I put cartoons on the TV for her and sit on the couch. I got on my phone and texted Eileen if she had any plans this after noon and she said no. I asked if she wanted to go to the light show with me and the kids and she said yes.
Zealand comes running down the stairs and runs over to me and gives me a good morning hug and kiss. He sits down at the table and I give him some pancakes too. They watch TV while they ate and I scrolled through social media.
After breakfast, I get Zealand dressed to go outside. It was winter, but it wasn't snowy... That's what it's like here in sunny California... 60° weather. I put Haven in her jacket and Zealand got his on. I bring them to the park and I swing Haven on the swing set and Zealand plays with the slide. We enjoy the beautiful weather. It was always hot, so it was nice to be out in a weather that wasn't 80 or above.
After a while, I bring them home and give them some lunch... A peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Zealand and cut up blueberries and strawberries for Haven. I let Zealand and Haven watch TV again... They are obsessed with this stupid Blippi show, it keep a them entertained, but it drives me nuts.
It gets dark outside later, so I drive us to Eileen's house and she buckles Neo in his car seat in my car and gets in the passenger seat. We drive to wear the light show was and get out. I set a blanket down and sit down and put Haven on my lap.
"Pretty lights" I say, looking at Haven who was looking at the lights
"Yeah" Eileen says "very pretty" she agrees and she just stare in aw as we watch the light show on Christmas Eve night.
