The next day, July 7th
Claire's POV
A whole day and still no sign of Zealand. My son was missing and there was nothing I could do. Zealand was no where to be found and it was all my fault.
I tried to stay positive, but I couldn't think about anything but Zealand. I couldn't sleep and I couldn't stomach anything because I was scared I would never see Zealand ever again. Ezra and Eileen were by my side every minute and tried to get me through the stress.
Eileen watched Haven while me and Ezra went over to Hayden and Henry's house just to see if maybe they would help us find Zealand. We parked in their driveway and went to their doorstep. I looked inside the window before Ezra knocked. I didn't see anyone or anything. The lights were all off and I could see their backdoor was opened.
Ezra knocked on the door... No answer but I could hear voices inside. He knocked again and I saw shadows moving inside the house.
"Are you in there?" Ezra shouted and I saw Hayden running out the back door with a small figure in her arms that looked like... Zealand! I ran to the backyard and called out to Hayden. She didn't stop so I tackled her to the ground.
Zealand fell out of her arms and landed on his back. I picked him up and ran as fast as I could to Ezra and Henry chased me. Henry grabbed the back of my hoodie and I fell backwards. Zealand put his face into my chest and held on to me tight.
Henry tried to grab Zealand out of my arms, but Ezra punched him and helped me up. Henry pushed Ezra away and pulled a gun out of his back pocket and Ezra stopped.
"Back up Ezra" Henry snarled
"Why did you kidnap my son?" Ezra asks
"He's not your son, he's mine" Henry said
"You abandoned him before he was even born, he's not your son and he never was" I chime in
"Stay out of this if you wanna live, Claire" Henry says, pointing the gun at me. I stay quiet
"Leave her alone, why did you kidnap Zealand" Ezra asks again and Henry keeps the gun pointed at my head
"Because I wanted him back, I wanted him to be part of my family with Hayden and Cash" he explains
"He was never yours, you had a chance to be his father and you blew it" Ezra says and Henry points the gun at his head and Ezra backs up more
"Because I was mad, I always loved Zealand but I was young and didn't want a child" Henry says
"Its too late, you gave up on a very special boy and you don't get a second chance" Ezra says and Henry grunts
"I want to be his father again and Hayden as his mother" Henry says
"He already has a terrific mother who loves him so much" Ezra says and I smile
"If she was so great, she wouldn't have left him at home with a terrible baby sitter" Henry says
"She wasn't a terrible baby sitter, she was very good at watching him until you killed her" Ezra said
"She was an easy kill" Henry says like he was proud of himself for killing her
"How did you get into our house?" I ask, finally speaking up.
"Alright I'll tell you exactly how everything went down" Henry says "here's how it went..."
