𝐷𝑎𝑡𝑒?

The first week of Hogwarts was tiring for Ruby. Because of O. W. Ls. She remembered how her brother tormented her to take 5th years seriously. Currently, she was sitting in the library with her best friend, Eleanor Bingley, ravenclaw. Eleanor was her best friend since 2nd year, and in these many years, their bond became strong.

"Ruby, seriously? Are we only going to learn? It's our 5th year, and people are doing fun stuff!" Eleanor exclaimed as the librarian gave her a pointed look, which made Eleanor shut her mouth.

"Only one more essay, and then we're good to go," Ruby said, without breaking her gaze from the book. Eleanor slouched her back as she, too, cocentrated. After an hour of doing their homework, Ruby stretched her arms as she felt tired. She looked ahead to see her best friend, asleep. Ruby heaved a sigh as she woke her friend up.

"Five more minutes...." Eleanor muttered under her breath.

"El, you can sleep in your room. Come on, get up, " Ruby said to her as Eleanor woke up and took her books before marching out of the library, which made Ruby chuckle.

As it was past time, Ruby tried her best to stay silent as she walked inside her common room. She saw a sleepy Lily Evans laying her head on the desk.

Is it a habit for everyone to be asleep when I notice them?

Ruby heaved a sigh before waking Lily up. Lily woke up abruptly as she wiped her drool.

"Lily, you can sleep in your room. Come on, " Ruby said as Lily stood up and went to her dorm before muttering a 'goodnight' for Ruby. Suddenly, she heard a thud on the floor, which made her turn at a rapid speed to see Sirius Black, sleeping in front of the common room door. For a second, she thought he was asleep, but he proved it wrong by opening his eyelids a little. Ruby shook her head in disapproval as she ignored his presence.

Sirius felt her walking away, which made him'snore', but still, she wasn't stopping on her tracks. Sirius gave up his act as he stood up and didn't let Ruby walk away by standing in front of her with a scowl.

"I was asleep," he said.

"So?"

"You're supposed to wake me up with your delicate voice," Sirius said.

"I won't,"

"Why?"

"You are good in acting, Sirius," Ruby said as she patted his shoulder and pushed past him.
Sirius was wondering why she hates to have a conversation with him.

"Morning, guys!" Ruby greeted the Marauders as she took a seat beside Remus. He was reading his favorite novel for the 10th time, and this was usual.

"Morning, Ruby-pie!" James greeted the girl with unique names, which would make her smile.

" ' Good morning, Ruby!" Peter greeted her with a shy smile.

"Morning, Ruba!" Sirius greeted her with his flirtatious smile, which made Remus threw a glare at him.

"It's Ruby, dumb-arse," She said and took a bite of her toast.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Peter asked with a curious smile. Ruby heaved a sigh as she knew what they were talking about.

Pranking.

One of her close friend, named Severus Snape was also a victim for their prank and she was glad that they stopped bullying him. He was a nice person according to her. He helped her with potions many times and was behaving genuinely with her. She eyed Sirius, who was about to stuff the food inside his mouth, but he paused and winked at her.

Ruby shook her head.

Unlike him.

"Ruby! Need your help right now!" Came her friend's voice.

"Morning, Eleanor," Remus greeted the girl, who was in a rush.

"Oh, greetings, Remus," she said back with a short smile and grabbed Ruby's arm and dragged her out of the great hall, leaving the boys confused.

"What just happened?" Peter asked, blinking his eyes in confusion.

"Nothing, just Eleanor being Eleanor," James said and shook his head.

Meanwhile....

"What's the matter, El?" Ruby asked once they reached the empty corridor.

"It's... it's just that.... ugh! How do I say it!?" Her behavior made Ruby get concerned.

"Darlin' are you alright?" She asked.

"I'm not mental!" Eleanor exclaimed.

"Are you on your periods?"

"Ugh... no! A random Hufflepuff guy asked me out for a date!" Eleanor said with a sigh.

"Date? Like... a real date?" Ruby asked, to which Eleanor nodded her head.

"Wow, it's just been a week, and you got asked out! Girl, I feel happy for you!" Ruby said with a grin and bet Eleanor's arm playfully.

"Stop,stop! The point is... I don't even know that guy, but somehow I said, "Okay... I don't know the reason behind it. "

"Hormones," Ruby chimed in as Eleanor glared at her.

"What should I do now? Should I turn him down?" She asked with pleading eyes. Ruby heaved a sigh.

"It's up to you, El. If you want, just give it a try, but if he hurts you, then I swear to pumpkin, I'll hex him. " Eleanor smiled a little and side hugged Ruby.

"You're the best!"

"Yeah, I know that. Let's head to class, shall we?" Ruby asked and held her hand out with a dramatic bow. Eleanor, too, accepted her hand dramatically and walked to their first class of the day... potions.
