𝑁𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑒.....?

Death....

Ruby woke up with a sweaty face. She was trembling so hard. It's been two days since she got these nightmares. It felt like someone was whispering these words repeatedly inside her mind. She paced her steps towards the common room to see Remus reading a novel.

"Remy.." she whispered as he looked up from the book to her.

"Ruby... what happened? Wait- are you crying?" He asked with concern. And that's when she realised that she was crying. Her cheeks were wet, and she wiped it with the back of her hand.

"Come here.." he said and patted the seat next to him. She sat beside him and scooted closer to him. He threw his arm around her shoulder and rubbed it softly.

"Is anything bothering you?" He asked as she snuggled closer to the collar of his tee shirt.

"Nightmare.." she said, bit her voice came out muffled.

"Wanna talk about it?" He asked her. Should she need to say? It's not that haunting nightmare, right..

"It's fine.." she said. Remus understood that she didn't want to talk about it as he let it aside.

"Let's divert our minds, I'm bored," Remus said. Honestly, he wasn't bored. He was fully into the novel.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet?" She asked and looked at him.

"Uh- I was kinda more into this book," he said. "But, how was your day?"

"Not bad... but Severus told me that he wouldn't tutor me hereafter... he told that I'm 'well-versed' in it, " she said, air quoting it.

"Maybe he's just tired teaching an immature like you," he said, and she glared daggers at him.

"What did you say?"

"Facts,sweet heart," he said as Ruby elbowed him at his stomach, which made him groan.

And just like that, the siblings talked and bickered and eventually slept on each other's shoulders.

By morning, the Marauders stood around them with adoring expression on their faces.

"Awww! Look at her! Snoring like a kid!"

"Well, she's an angel, duh,"

"Don't disturb them, imbeciles!"

"Padfoot, look at him! He's being like a caring sweetheart, brother!"

Due to their voices, Ruby fluttered opened her eyelids to see Sirius with a soft smile. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She thought that she was dreaming.

"Ugh... why.. are you... again..?" She muttered, but that was quite audible to the Marauders.

"Ruby, I can't get you. Can you please repeat?" James asked.

"Why am I dreaming of -" Before she could say, she kept her hand above her mouth and looked at them with wide eyes.

Shit! I was about to say Sirius's name!

"Dreaming of?" Sirius asked with a frown.

"Uh- no one," she said and got up, which made Remus also wake up from sleep.

"Fuck...what are you guys doing?" He asked in his sleepy voice and rubbed his eyes.

"Nothing much,mate. Just for your information, you're gonna be late to class" Peter stated.

"Which technically means that even you guys are also late, right?" Sirius was about to say, but he didn't.

"Uh- about that... yeah, we're also late" Sirius said which made Peter to chuckle. But something was bothering him.

Who was she dreaming about?

Ruby was tired after the classes.

She felt like she wanted to sleep for the rest of the life.

"Ruby!" From far, she heard her best friend's voice. She turned behind to see Eleanor with an everlasting smile.

"I have a good news!" She said which made Ruby to smile knowingly.

"Wait, let me guess, your date wasn't a douchebag " she said and Eleanor nodded her head with a squeal.

"He was such a gentleman and he asked me out, once again! This weekend!" She said and Ruby laughed at her reaction.

"I'm happy for you, girl!" Ruby said as the duo made their way to the great hall. Once they reached, they sat together and started to have dinner.

"Hey, Ruby" she heard her brother's voice, which meant, his friends were also there with him.

"Hey, Remy" she greeted him with a smile as the Marauders sat down.

"Hello, Eleanor" Remus greeted the ravenclaw girl as she smiled at him.

"Hey!"

Eleanor greeted him with her enthusiastic smile and started to eat dinner. As Ruby was eating, suddenly she felt someone kicking her foot which made her to wince.

"Ouch.." she muttered underneath her breath.

"What happened?" Remus asked in a concerned tone.

"Nothing.." she said and looked ahead to see, Sirius Black who was controlling himself from smirking. Ruby glared at him as she took a sip of water and kicked his foot, which made him to choke on his food.

"Are you okay, padfoot?" Peter asked and Sirius nodded his head as he glared at Ruby esoterically. Whereas Ruby was smirking.

Once again, she felt Sirius kicking her shin and she swore on merlin to control herself from killing him. She took her wand from her bag, secretly, and aimed it underneath the table.

Just as Sirius was about to take a bite of his food, Ruby casted the spell underneath her breath.

" Rictusempra"

Sirius busted into fits of laughter as the Marauders looked at him weirdly and worriedly.

"Mate, what happened?" James asked followed by Remus.

"Are you alright?"

"I─ haha! " Sirius couldn't even utter a word.

"Thanks for the food!" Ruby said as she took her bag and paced her steps towards the exit. But, before she could walk out, she turned around and winked at Sirius; whose ears were red and eyes were fixed at her. He was blushing as well as glaring and his lips were plastering a smile... because of the spell.

Seeing his tomato red face with laughter erupting from his mouth, she chuckled and walked out with her head held up.
