Ruby was brilliant in potions, which made her to be the favorite student of Slughorn. For many of his dinners, she would be invited, but the worst part is,her friend doesn't get invited.

She hated how he discriminated against students. But still, she's good in potions, and the reason was....

Severus Snape.

Same age as her brother, Remus, and his friends. And the victim for their pranks.

"Miss Bingley, can you tell me about the potion we're going to brew today?" He asked, looking at Eleanor. She shook her head and heaved a sigh.

"Why me?" She muttered. "I don't know, sir,"

"That's a disappointment then... " he said with a displeasing look and looked through the crowd of students. "Ah! There's my favorite student, Miss Lupin. Please do answer for the question I've asked earlier, " he said.

"It's about Draught of Peace, sir," Ruby said.

"Exactly, this potion is about relieving all of your little anxieties and beware. Overdoing of the ingredients might result in deep sleep," he said as the students began to brew it.

After her classes, Ruby was in the common room and talking with Marlene alone.

"Marls, was 5th year difficult for you?"

"5th? Bitch , for me every school year is difficult " Marlene said as Ruby laughed.

"Ruby, needn't worry when you have your scholar brother. He'll teach you everything regarding your studies, and actually, can we change the topic, I feel nauseous, " Marlene said with scrunching her nose in disgust. Ruby immediately nodded her head with a laugh.

"What a pleasant sound after tiring day!" Came the voice of the cocky Sirius Black.
Ruby rolled her eyes and looked at him.

"Where are others?" She asked.

"Prongs went for asking out Lily, Moony is in library and wormtail is in the kitchen," He said and took a seat beside Ruby. She immediately scooted a bit away from and maintained distance.

What she didn't know was, Sirius, eyeing Marlene to go. And she did.

"Merlin, just now I remembered that I've got some work to do. See you later, guys, " Marlene said and walked out of the common room, leaving the duo alone.

Ruby felt it awkward. Damn awkward.

"How was your day, Ruba?" He asked in his flirty tone. She once again rolled her eyes.

"It's Ruby, Dumb-arse," She said for the nth time. "And yeah, it wasn't that bad," she added.

"How was yours?" She asked back as he smiled softly.

"Ummm... it was good, actually. We pranked Minnie, and she was devastated, but thank merlin she didn't give detention for us, " He said with a laugh, and Ruby couldn't help but smile at the way he talked.

"Oh, and today we had Quidditch practice, and it was mindblowing!" He exclaimed with a chuckle.

"That's nice to hear," she said and got up from the couch.

"Where are you going?" He asked as his smile faded.

"Uh- I've got some lessons with one of my friends, so I gotta go," she said and took the books from the table and walked outside the common room, leaving a sad Sirius.

Sirius heaved a sad sigh and he wondered why he she hated being with him.

Ruby headed to the library to see Snape, studying alone. A small smile crept to her lips as she walked towards his place and kept her books on the table.

"Hey!" She greeted him. Snape took his gaze off the book and looked at her with his famous cold gaze.

"Lupin, it's a pleasure to see you yet again," he said in a monotone voice.

"So, tell me Severus, what are we gonna learn today?" She asked and kept her hand below her chin.

"Nothing, actually. You're well versed in potions, which means you don't need my assistance anymore. " she frowned at his comment.

"What?"

"Yeah, if you've got any doubt alone, you can ask to me. Or else, I'll move out, " he said and left the library, leaving her confused. She just shrugged it off and did her homework.
