𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠

Sirius Black had never felt this scared in his whole life, not after receiving death threats from the stupid death eaters about killing his wife. More than scared, he felt devastated.

He'd lost his son, and he was definitely not ready to lose his wife as well. He looked at his wife's sleepy face as he felt a lump forming on his throat.

Sirius slowly caressed her cheek and tugged a strand of hair behind her ear. He pulled her closer to his chest as he caressed her hair.

"What's wrong,love?" Sirius flinched slightly as he looked down to see Ruby looking at him through her eyelashes. Sirius chuckled as he shook his head.

"Nothing, Ruba," Sirius whispered as Ruby frowned.

"Don't lie," she bluntly stated as Sirius heaved a sigh.

"I'm thinking about our future, Ruba," Sirius started off as Ruby listened. "Is it wrong that I feel scared... scared of losing you, my friends... like, we've just got a family to take care but we couldn't be truly happy about it because of this fucking war" Sirius said as Ruby saw his chest moving up and down, slowly.

Many things have changed Sirius into a person like this. Sirius was this ray of sunshine who just wanted to live to the fullest and not worry about anything, but now, things have changed.

Ruby's hand went towards his neck and massaged it softly.

"Why must our life be like this? Did we make any mistakes?" Sirius questioned with a frown.

"No, love. Our only mistake is that we are born in this time period... it's not our mistake that some twat wanted to conquer this world... it's not our fault that we fell in love with each other which makes us scared to the core at the thought of losing us... nothing's our fault, Sirius" Ruby said as Sirius's gaze flickered from her eyes to lips and back to eyes.

Ruby pulled him in a kiss as Sirius didn't hesitate a moment to kiss her back hungrily, as if it was their last time. His hands went towards her waist and pulled her even closer to him. Ruby's hands were placed on his chest as she felt his heartbeat's rhythm against her palm.

Sirius swiftly made himself on top of her as he ravished her mouth while his hand started removing her night suit. Ruby's fingers unbuttoned his shirt as she threw it at the floor, leaving him only with his pants and her with night pants and opened shirt.

Sirius's lips made way towards her neck as Ruby tilted her neck upwards and sighed in pleasure.

"I love you..." Sirius whispered near her earlobe as Ruby smiled softly.

"I'll love you for a thousand years more..."

Sirius left Ruby in James house in order to protect her from being alone, and Ruby didn't deny it. Even she hated the fact of being alone.

"Why can't I stay with Remy?" Ruby asked as she saw Harry playing with Lily.

"He's trying his best to be stable, Ruba. Let's not be a burden for him, " Sirius said softly as Ruby nodded her head understanding.

"Alright... let's go, prongs, " Sirius said as James walked out of his room and pecked Lily's lips, to which Harry made a gagging face. Ruby laughed, looking at that as James rolled his eyes.

"Stop with that funny face, Harry," James said as Harry shook his head.

"You need a kiss?" Harry once again made a gagging face as James laughed. He kissed his son's cheek and looked at Sirius, who was staring at them with a small smile.

"Let's go, mate" James said as the best friends left the Potter manor, leaving Lily and Ruby alone with Harry.

Lily made Harry sleep as she put him in his cradle and sat beside Ruby on the couch.

"How are you doing, Ruby?" Lily asked her friend as Ruby wanted to nod her head and say that I'm fine. But she couldn't. Not when Lily gave her a look of if you lie, I'll kill you.

"Better than before," Ruby answered honestly.

"And how's Remus? I wrote to him a few times, but that idiot never bothered to write back, " Lily said with a glare as Ruby chuckled a little.

"He's trying to be better... El-- El was the only woman he loved after our mom... and I've visited him a few times, and he's terrible in changing Willow's diapers. " Lily laughed as she shook her head.

"Typical Remus"

"But, other than that.. He's trying his best" Lily nodded her head as she kept her hand on Ruby's knee friendly.

"You've got me, Ruby. Marls was really, really close to me, and so was El... but now, it's only us..." Lily whispered.

"You know something? When you said yes to James, he was the happiest person to be seen in the whole world. He was literally screaming in joy. " Ruby remembered the way James smiled widely and jumped in joy. Suddenly, the smile faded as she remembered about the horrible vision.

"Lily, I need to say something " Lily nodded her head as Ruby opened her mouth to continue. "Lily, I need you and James to--"

"MUMMA!" The duo looked at the room to see Harry on the floor wailing because his attempt in escaping the cradle has failed, miserably. Lily immediately got up and headed to the room, without hearing Ruby out.
