It has been a week since that incident, and Ruby tried her best to avoid those horrid thoughts. She concentrated on her O.W.Ls, which was just days away.

She was pressuring herself to avoid sleep because every time she sleeps, she gets nightmares. Sirius noticed her behavior, and even he would try to have a talk with her, but she wouldn't budge, which would anger Sirius.

He was getting hurt seeing her work like a machine.

Ruby was in the common room, learning Arithmancy. Sirius entered the common room and slammed the door, which made the girl get startled.

"HOLY-- Sirius? What's with you? You startled me to death, " she said and focused on the book. Sirius didn't reply to her. Instead, he snatched the book and held it above.

"Hey! What was that for?! Give my book, " She demanded, but Sirius once again didn't answer her. Sje stood up and walked to him, leaving distance between them. She tiptoed to get back her book, but Sirius wasn't giving her any hope.

"This isn't funny, Sirius," she stated and, once again, tried to get the book. But he didn't say anything. She glared at him and jumped a little up as Sirius moved back.

"Why are you being like this?! Just give back my book!" She exclaimed, and he didn't utter any word.

"Say something for merli--" her words got cut off by his lips against her, fiercely. She gasped in surprise, which gave Sirius to play with her tongue. She slowly melted in his kiss and hung her hands around his neck. The book in his hand fell down as he wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her closer.

Soon, the duo pulled away, feeling breathless. Sirius leaned his forehead against hers.

"Do you feel okay now?" He asked. Ruby nodded her head and kissed his forehead before hugging him.

"Never better."

It was officially the day of her exam. Ruby was pacing around the corridor, feeling stressed. Eleanor was crying as she buried her face in a book.

"El, now it's not the time to cry," Ruby said as Eleanor looked up with teary eyes.

"I'm gonna fail for sure! Why should I waste my time by writing this stupid exam?!" She exclaimed dramatically.

"For once, we shared the same brain, Bingley," Ruby heard Sirius's voice. Ruby's lips curved up at his voice.

"Hello there, Ruba," he greeted her with an amusing smile as Ruby nodded her head, acknowledging his presence.

"Ruby, don't get stressed out and don't care about the results," Remus said, trying to boost some confidence for his sister.

"I--"

"Fifth years students are asked to be assembled in the great hall for their O.W.Ls exam" came an announcement. Ruby and Eleanor looked at each other and nodded their heads.

"Bye, guys!" The bid their farewell and entered the great hall for their exam.

"I hope she doesn't get panicked," Remus said as concern was laced in his tone.

"She's gonna ace it, I'm sure," Sirius said as James agreed with him.

"After all, she's your sister," James said with a grin as Remus rolled his eyes.

"And adding to that, she learns better than you, Moony. No offense, " Peter chimed in as Remus threw a glare at him.

"I said no offense," Peter emphasized as the marauders laughed at Remus's reaction.
