Ruby had spent her weekend by doing her favorite job, which is to: sleep.

The following day, she was excited to hear about her friend's little date with the Hufflepuff guy. After having her breakfast, she walked with Eleanor, whose cheeks were flushing. Ruby smirked as she hung her arm around Eleanor.

"So, how was your date?" She asked as the duo made their way to the class.

"Uh─ it was─ good!" Eleanor stuttered, which made Ruby confirm her suspiciousness.

"you both did the deed?" She asked, which made Eleanor choke on the air.

"No! We just kissed!" Eleanor exclaimed as the corridor became silent for mere seconds. Soon, people started to mind their own business.

"You─ kissed?" Ruby asked with wide eyes. She was shocked to find her friend lost her first kiss.

"Yeah, and we both are in a relationship, currently," too much of shocks.

"That soon? Don't you find it kinda early?like you guys went on for only two dates, and you both are in a relationship... don't you think that you should take things slow?" Ruby asked out,justifying her point out.

"Even I thought same as you! But I didn't want to turn him down, that's why, " Eleanor said, fiddling with the strap of her bag.

"El, you shouldn't feel pity and just be in a relationship! It's about both of your feelings. You better say the truth to him before you hurt him, " Ruby advised her friend as Eleanor nodded her head with a sigh.

"Let's not spoil the mood, and we'll just head to class! " Ruby said, trying to ease the atmosphere as the duo reached their destination ─ potions class.

They entered inside to see Professor Slughorn taking class. Well, they were late. Slughorn excused them as he left the duo in.

As the class was going on, Ruby felt bored because she hated potions and his class. The only reason she attends the class was for her O.W.L.S. Soon, the class came to an end, which made Slughorn look at the students with a smile.

"The class is over, and I would like Miss Lupin to stay. Please dismiss yourselves. " Ruby frowned in confusion as she saw Eleanor also walking out of the room with confusion.

"Ah! Miss. Lupin, there's this dinner party today, and I would like you to be there, " he said with grin.

"I've invited Mr. Potter,Miss. Evans, Mr. Snape and many more students " he paused and looked at her. " Your presence would make the dinner even more fantastic," he said and walked out of the room, leaving Ruby to groan.

She hates the party. Especially Slughorn's dinner parties.

As Ruby was walking through the corridors, she saw Severus Snape, sitting alone in below a tree and minding his business, peaceful. And Ruby thought of disrupting it.

She made her way to Severus and took a seat beside him, which almost made him flinch. But,still, he maintained a straight face.

"Hey there! " She greeted him with a grin as Severus nodded his head, acknowledging her presence. Eversince Lily didn't talk to him, he would always be alone. Which was normal for everyone, but for Ruby, it wasn't.

In previous years, Severus would at times laugh at her jokes, but now he didn't.

"Are you coming for dinner tonight?" She asked as she took a leaf from the ground and stared at it.

"I'm obliged to, and if you excuse me," He said and got up from the ground, walking away, leaving her confused by his abnormal behavior.

"Severus, are you avoiding me?" She asked out, which made him pause on his steps.

"You could ask that to your housemates, Lupin," he said and gave her a cold shoulder, leaving her in utter disbelief. She knew that Severus wouldn't ignore her like this. Someone must've done something, and she knew who it could be.

Ruby took the books in her hand and marched towards the common room to see the Marauders teasing each other. She walked to them and slammed her books on her table, which made them flinch.

"What did you guys to Severus? You guys did something to him! " She yelled at them as the whole people in the common room looked at her in silence.

"Are you really bothered about that Slytherin?" A random Gryffindor girl asked as Ruby glared at her.

"Mind you own filthy business!" She said through her gritted teeth and averted her gaze back to them.

"Open your mouth! " She yelled, fuming with anger.

"Ruby, he's not worth to be your friend and even you wouldn't consider him as your friend if you found out what he did" Remus started in a calm voice, but Ruby just rolled her eyes.

"Does that make you guys as saints?" She asked, glaring at each of them. "Absolutely not! Even you guys were also bullying him to the core, " she said in a rough tone and scowled at them.

"Ru─" Ruby cuts off Sirius with a pointed look. " You don't even start! Just because you're handsome and charming doesn't mean that you could sleep with any girls you want!" She bawled at him and heaved a sigh. Sirius was too stunned to speak. His mind was processing the words she'd said to him.

"He called Lily as mudblood... what would you do if someone called your loveable person like that? Would you stay silent?" James asked in the most calmest voice ever. But deep down, he was boiling with anger. He still remembers how hurtful his words were to Lily and how she teared up.

"And we don't want the history to repeat," Peter said and looked at Ruby, who was looking at him silently.

"Did he really say─ that word to Lily?" Ruby asked with a frown, making James nod his head.

The whole people in the room watched this drama, and Ruby felt embarrassed. She felt ashamed of herself for defending him. He could've hurt her physically as that pain would've vanished, but hurting her verbally─ and that too using that word. It was horrifying.

"I'm sorry," she said and stormed out of the common room. Remus heaved a sad sigh, looking at her sister's disappearing figure.

"Let me talk to her," Sirius said and walked out of the common room to see the corridor empty. And he knew where she would be.

He walked to the kitchen.
