𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑒, 𝑅𝑢𝑏𝑦

"Ruby, there's someone who wants to meet you." The old lady's gentle voice was heard to Ruby as she averted her gaze from the window to her.

"To see me?" 4 years old Ruby asked as she pointed herself. The old lady smiled affectionately as she nodded her head. Ruby excitedly dusted her tidy dress as she ran outside her room to see a couple with a small boy. The woman. was in her mid thirties, and the same went to the man. Ruby immediately hid behind the caretaker as she peeked her head a little out to see the family.

"Ruby, Meet Mr. And Mrs. Lupin, " the caretaker said as she pushed Ruby forward, gently.  She looked at them with doe eyes, which made the couple smile with pure affection.  Ruby bowed her head in 90 degrees as she greeted the older ones.

"It's nice meeting you, Mr and Mrs. Lupin. I'm Ruby, " she introduced herself to them. Mrs. Lupin kneeled to her height as she caressed her cheek.

"Hello dear, I'm hope Lupin, this is my husband, Lyall, and this is my son Remus. We wanted a small girl in our family. Do you want to be in our family?" Hope asked in a soft tone, which made the little girl stare at Hope in awe.

"Hope? I like your name, Mrs. Lupin, " Ruby said with a giggle, which made the couple smile. Hope raised her eyebrow, waiting for Ruby to reply. Ruby nodded her head as her braids were dancing along with her head. Hope smiled cheerfully as she hugged the girl and lifted her up, which made Ruby yelp a little.

"Mommy! Put her down! I want to talk to her!" Remus's voice chimed in as Hope gentle dropped her on the ground. Remus rubbed his hand against his thigh as he held it forward.

"Hello! I'm Remus Lupin! Welcome to our family, Ruby!" Remus said excitedly as Rose shook her hands with him in a giddy manner.

The caretaker took a few steps towards Mr and Mrs. Lupin to have a private conversation, leaving the kids to introduce themselves.

"She's lucky to us. Please do take care of her. She always wanted to have a family, but this whole universe was against her. This is my humble request, " the caretaker said as she was about to tear up. Lyall and Hope nodded their head with sincerity as Lyall glanced at Ruby who was giggling to jokes made by Remus.

"Hope! Remus is not reading books for me!" Ruby Lupin complained her brother to her mom as she stomped on her foot, puffing out her cheeks. Hope sighed for the nth time as she let out a chuckle.

"Remus darling, why don't you read some muggle comics for your sister?" Lyall asked sweetly. Remus shook his head as he lay on the couch.

"Remus John Lupin!" Hope yelled from the kitchen as Remus immediately stood up and took a storybook beside him. "Ruby! Come here!" He called out his sister, who laughed at him with a mischievous smile.

Ruby sat beside him as she scooted a bit closer to him. Remus read the same book which he'd read the previous day. As time passed, Ruby let out a little yawn as she covered her mouth with her hand. Soon, she fell asleep on her brother's shoulder as she hugged him like a koala. This made  Remus also sleep as he too hugged his sister. Lyall saw this scene as he took out his camera to capture this moment, hoping their bond would last forever.

"I got the letter! I got the letter!" Remus was jumping with joy as Lyall and Hope hugged the little boy. But Ruby was sitting on the couch with a scowl. "It's a magic school!" Hope and Lyall had said about the magic world which Ruby was excited to see.

"Ruby! Hereafter, you should read books by yourself, " Remus said in a teasing manner as Ruby rolled her eyes.

"How would you manage your full moon day, Remus?" This was the most important thing she was concerned about. She didn't want any of the schoolmates to tease him and bully him.

"I guess I can manage," he said and ruffled her hair.

"You better don't drag your arse to any problem, Wolfie." That was the name she kept for him, and he wasn't offended by it. Now it was Remus's time to roll his eyes, but his lips were twitched upwards as a little smile was plastered on it. "Language Ruby Hope Lupin!" Hope yelled with her nose faring.

"I'll miss you, Ruby."

"I will not miss you, Remy." Remus chuckled as he side hugged his 10 year old sister.

Here, we have our first chapter for this book dream!

I've always wanted to write a book for Marauders, and here it is. I'm posting this book because my previous book 'Different' will be in hiatus soon. If any if you guys haven't read it, please do read it (only if you're from Stranger things Fandom)

Anyways, let me end my rambling here.
