"Where were you last night?" Remus asked as he noticed his sister placing the dishes in the shelf.

"I was at Sirius's," Ruby answered as she sat on the couch while relaxing herself.

"You could've told me about it," Remus said as he took a seat beside her.

"I'm sorry," she said curtly as Remus closed his eyes in annoyance and glared at her.

"Ruby, it has been a year. Just move on!" Remus shouted as Ruby heaved a sigh.

"Remus, don't," she warned, but Remus didn't bother to hear her out. He wanted his old cheery sister back.

"No, I will not! Enough, Ruby! I hate seeing you like this--"

"Then don't! Just walk away, " Ruby snapped at him as Remus flinched in surprise. For the past years, never in his life he'd seen her yelling or shouting at people.

"Ru--"

"Shut up! Just shut up!" She shouted. Remus kept his hand above her shoulder, to which she moved away from him.

"Ruby, I'm sorry... I completely understan--"

"You don't... no one does..." Ruby whispered as she hid her face behind her hand. Remus's heart was aching at the sight of seeing his sister being a mess.

"You guys graduated whereas I didn't. Now, it's really hard for people to hire me... you guys could fulfill your dreams as you wish, but what about me? Am I a weapon for this stupid war? For the last time I'd checked, I'm a human being, too... and yes, it has been a year, Remus... a year since mom talked to me, " her voice quivered as Remus held her hand. He was actually glad that his sister was opening up to him instead of her bottling her feelings like she did for the past year.

"I miss her... I miss the way things were before..." Remus pulled his sister in a bone crushing hug as he kissed her forehead. Ruby cried on his chest as she, too, hugged him.

"I promise you that things will be fine for us, for you. I promise you that you'll be happy, " He whispered. "I missed you,"

"I missed you more, Remy."

"Ruby! Sirius's here!' Ruby jolted from the bed as she walked out of her room to see her boyfriend and her brother having a conversation. Her face lit at his sight as she leaned on the doorframe and admired him. He'd changed in appearance wise, like growing a bit more of his silky hair, tattooed his hand and changed his dressing style from tee shirts to satin shirts which she found it to be hot, but never admitted.

"And-- Hey, Ruba!" Sirius greeted her as he got up from the couch. Ruby made her way towards him as he held her hand and caressed it softly with his thumb.

"Erm, stop romancing with my sister in front of my eyes," Remus said as he got up, leaving them with a disgusting look to which Ruby rolled her eyes playfully.

"He told me," Sirius said as Ruby nodded her head, understanding.
"Let's forget about this war, Ruba. Let's be foolish and enjoy now. Just now. What do you say? " Sirius asked as he wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her closer as he leaned in. Ruby tilted her head as his nose brushed with her earlobe. Shivers went down her spine when his breath hit her bare neck.

"Si--Sirius... stop.. " she stuttered, which made Sirius smirk cockily.

"Cat got your tongue?"

"It's a dog, actually," Sirius chuckled as Ruby gave him a teasing smile.

"God, Ruba," he muttered as he kissed her cheek and pulled away. "Let's go," Ruby looked dumbfounded.

"Where? "

"That's a secret."

"Alright. So are we going to apparate?" Sirius gave her a sheepish smile as he rubbed the nape on his neck.

"Promise me that you wouldn't be mad," Sirius said in beforehand.

"That depends."

"Come on," he said as he interlaced his fingers with her as the couple went out. Ruby's eyes widened at the sight as she stared at it with opened mouth.

"Is-- is that a motorbike?" Sirius nodded his head as he waited for her reaction.

"Wow! WOW! I-- I LOVE THIS!" Ruby exclaimed as she clapped her hands in excitement. "When did you get it?"

"Uh-- two years before," that smile faded as Sirius frowned.

"Two years?" She asked in disbelief.

"I've been meaning to say this to you, but I haven't got the right time, and today is the day. Please don't be mad at me, Ruba. I just forgot. I promise! You know that I tend to forget things. I'm really rea--"

"Shut up, Sirius. Give me one ride, " Ruby interrupted as Sirius just stared at her.

"You're not mad?"

"No, love but I will be if you refuse to take me on it" Sirius smiled in relief as he sat on the motorbike and eyed her to sit behind him to which she chuckled and sat behind him.

"Hold tight because it's gonna be a long ride,"
