"HEY! GET UP!"

Ruby woke up with her brother's voice as she rubbed her eyes lazily.

"Why?..." She muttered under her breath as Remus pulled her blankets away as Ruby groaned.

"Come out," Remus said as Ruby frowned in confusion, but she didn't rebuke. She walked out of the room along with Remus to see ...

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RUBY!"

It was none other than her family greeting her with a cake in Hope's hand. Ruby grinned as she looked at Remus, who was also smiling.

"Happy birthday, Ruby," he wished as he gave her one of his favorite novels, which she always nagged him to lend her. Ruby gasped as she took the gift in her hand and looked at it with sparkly eyes.

"Thank you, Remy!" She said.

Soon, she ate breakfast with her family, and they celebrated her birthday with the help of a home baked cake by Hope and Remus.

"I can't believe that my daughter has turned 16" Lyall said dramatically.

"Stop it, Drama queen," Hope chimed in as Ruby laughed at her dad's reaction.

Once she had dinner with her family, she decided to go out for a walk. It was snowing, and Ruby loves it. She dragged Remus along with her as the duo tried to make snowman

"Oh, come on, Remy! Don't be such a lazy arse, " Ruby teased him as she turned around to roll a snow ball. But things didn't go as planned.

"MERLI-" She gasped due to the sudden contact with ice at her neck. She looked behind to see Remus with an innocent smile as he threw another snow ball at her.

Which resulted in one thing.

Snow war.

"YOU BETTER GET YOUR ARSE RIGHT HERE, REMUS!" Ruby yelled as she chased him, but Remus ran as he took long strides.

"NOT A CHANCE, LAZY GRANDMA," Remus provoked her as Ruby gasped dramatically.

"What did you say?" She asked as she crossed her arms and threw him a glare. He stopped on his tracks and looked at her, mirroring her gestures with a tiny smirk.

"Lazy grandma"

"I'M AT THE VERGE OF TURNING YOU INTO A PUMPKIN"

It was nighttime. Ruby was in her room as she opened the letters one by one.

Dear Ruby,

Happy birthday, my long-lost pranking sister! I hope that Sirius wrote to you and I know that you're now a smiling clown

And indeed she was.

Ruby folded the letter neatly as she kept it inside a box that had many letters in it.

And the next was Peter , after reading his letter, she kept it inside the box and went for the next one. Finally, it was the last letter.

Ruby Hope Lupin,

Wishing you a wonderful birthday. I hope that one day or another, you will definitely come and visit me because of your constant visions during your sleep.

Ruby's hands were shaking in fear. Once again, she remembered about the nightmare. She crumpled the letter and threw it in her dustbin.

Ruby buried her face in her hands and tried her level best to make things forget. She wanted to forget about that vision, but Dumbledore wasn't helping her in that case.

And once again, the fear arose in her.
