It was a week before Christmas, and many of the students were packing their bags, including Ruby. She was so thrilled to spend her Christmas with her parents.
But her happiness got interrupted by coming up to her with a letter in his hand.

"Ruby, you've got a letter from Eleanor," Remus said as he handed the letter to her. Ruby smiled knowingly as Remus smacked her arm playfully and walked to his friends to give her some privacy.

Dear Ruby

My parents' funeral is done. And I'm currently staying with my aunt Mary. Don't worry about my Ruby, I'm doing good and I want you to stay happy.

Ruby chuckled as she read it.

As soon as I come back to hogwarts after Christmas, I want you to say everything about Sirius! I know that something happened between you guys, so you better say the truth to me.

"Yes ma'am," Ruby said sarcastically to herself and rolled her eyes.

I'm sorry I didn't get anything for you this Christmas. Let's hope that next year will be amazing and how's Remus doing? I didn't thank him for comforting me the other day. Convey my gratitude to him!

Ruby folded the letter and kept it inside her bag as she thought of replying to her once she gets back to her home.

She took the bag in her hand and went to Remus to tease him.

"Remy! I have something to say to you, " she said in a singing manner and stood beside Remus, who was eyeing her suspiciously.

"What do you wanna say?" He asked as he looked at her nervously. He knew that his sister got to know about his little crush over Eleanor. And the main reason was that his friends didn't know about it.

"Your future girlfriend said,'Thank you, Remus!'" She said in a high-pitched tone as Remus's eyes widened.

"Your girlfriend?" James asked out in a shocking way.

"Uh- no! I don't have any girlfriend!" Remus exclaimed with wide eyes.

"And you never bothered to tell us about it?!" Sirius too exclaimed dramatically as he crossed her arms.

"Let me exp -"

"I'm so happy for you, Moony!" Peter said, clapping his hands.

"Guys, let me -"

"He loves her since fourth year, I thought that you guys already knew about it," Ruby said with a teasing smile as Remus threw a glare at her.

"Oops, my bad. I guess Lily needs me, see you guys! Bye Remy, " she said and walked out of the common room. As soon as she stepped out, she burst into laughter.

"Moony, explain," James stated.

"Yea -"

"Right now," Sirius said.

"LET ME TALK FOR MERLIN'S SAKE!"

Ruby was alone in her compartment as she didn't want to take advantage of people.

"Enjoying, aren't you?" Ruby flinched as she dropped her book on the floor. She looked ahead to see a grumpy Remus who entered in along with his friends. She picked up the book and kept it in her bag.

"Uh- I did enjoy when I accidentally exposed you to your friends," Ruby said with a playful smile as Remus took a seat beside her, followed by James, Sirius, and Peter on the opposite sides.

"Hahaha, very funny, Ruby." Remus said with a glare.

"So, he said everything to you guys?" Ruby asked as Sirius nodded his head, eyeing Remus carefully.

"After hours of struggle, he said," Sirius said as Ruby let out a chuckle.

"Can you guys just shut up?" Remus snapped as he opened a book to read. Ruby nudged his arm playfully.

"Oh, come on! I was just playing, big buddy!" Ruby reasoned as she raised an eyebrow in joking way as Remus tried to suppress the smile, but he couldn't help it.

"Jesus, stop with your funny faces. It's annoying. " Remus said with a smile as Ruby grinned widely.

"I'm glad that I annoyed you," she replied and averted her gaze in front, only to catch Sirius intensely looking at her. Her cheeks warmed as she immediately looked away.

Soon, their journey came to an end as they reached the king's cross station. Ruby took her luggage in her hand as everyone walked out except for Sirius.

"What are you doing her? Let's move out. " Ruby said as she avoided his gaze.
But he didn't give her any reply. Instead, he took a few steps forward, which made her walk backward until her leg met with the seat as she stumbled and sat down. Sirius hovered over her as he kept one of his hand near her face.

"Si- Sirius! Move, " she whispered, but Sirius just hummed. Ruby closed her eyes as she clutched her skirt. She was waiting for something to happen, but she opened her eyes once she heard Sirius chuckle.

"You thought that I would kiss you? Permission is more important, love " He said with his famous smirk as Ruby glared at him. She pushed him back roughly and tried to move past him, but he held her wrist. She was confused of her behaviour. She knew that
Sirius loves to tease her, but this time she couldn't help but feel disappointed.

"Wait- I- well, the reason I kidnapped you is," he paused and fiddled inside his pocket.

"You kidnapped me? When?" She asked, crossing her arms.

"Now, well, I'll leave you - just give me a second. This thing isn't coming out of my pocket." Sirius said with an annoyed look, and at last, he took a small box from his pocket.

"What's this?" She asked as her heart was pacing faster.

"Open it once you get home! Have a great Christmas, Ruba!" He said in a rush as he walked out of the compartment, leaving her alone with different emotions.

"Yo- you too" she muttered in a weak voice.

"RUBY! RUBY HOPE LUPIN WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?! YOUR DAD HAS GOT WORRIED!" came her mother's voice as Ruby went out of the train only to get engulfed in a warm hug with her dad.

"Dad, you're crushing my bones" she replied in a muffled tone as Mr Lupin chuckled and pulled away.

"I missed you, Ruby" he said and caressed her hair as Ruby smiled widely.

"I'm here as well" Remus chimed in as Mrs Lupin chuckled and brought him in a hug which made the boy to smile.

"Let's go home, shall we?" Mr Lupin asked as the siblings yelled 'yes' together.
