It has been a week since that incident, and Ruby was doing good, only because of Sirius and his constant attempts to make the girl smile. she was hell worried of Eleanor as they sent her to her hometown for the funeral. Ruby was waiting for Eleanor's letter.

And the winter breeze has started, which means a party in gryffindor common room for no reason. Ruby was done with the party and the hosts, which was the marauders.

" Seriously, Al? is this stupid party really needed? like, I can spend my entire night sleeping !" Ruby exclaimed dramatically as Alice chuckled. she felt comfortable around Alice due to her soft nature and her soft voice.

" Oh, cut it out, Ruby. It's just for a night, and the shocking thing here is, Lily is also joining the party today, " Alice said as Ruby just shook her head. she didn't want any parties, and moreover, she hated socializing with people.

" Can I just pretend like I'm not here, by staying inside the room without making any noise?" Ruby asked with puppy eyes, but that didn't work.

" just enjoy the fucking night, sweetie" said a voice which belonged to Marlene as she dragged Ruby and Lily by their arms and quartet entered the common room. The room was filled with people. Many were dancing, singing, drinking and snogging. Ruby hated the sight as her face cringed in disgust and looked at Marlene with puppy eyes, but once again, it failed.

" hey boys !" Marlene greeted as she noticed the boys having fun, including Remus, who was drinking firewhiskey. Ruby was shocked as she went towards her brother.

"Remy, what are you drinking?" Ruby asked, resting her hands on her waist.

" Greetings, Ruby Hope Lupin, how are you doing?" Remus asked as she could smell the alcoholic effect from his breath.

"I'm very much fine"

" How's El? is she doing fine? she didn't write to you, right? " he asked which made Ruby to frown.

" Why are you asking?" he had no right to ask right? Eleanor was her friend and not Remus's. she was confused of her brother's behavior. She remembered how he would greet her every morning when the others would just mind their business, she remembered how he would often ask about Eleanor and she remembered how he choked on his drink when she told him about Eleanor and her ex boyfriend. Ruby concluded everything as her eyes widened.

" You like her, don't you?" she asked to which he giggled as his ears turned red and he nodded his head.

"Since when?"

" Since fourth year" Remus said making the girl to gasp in disbelief. she wasn't angry on her brother, of course she can't when her brother was getting shy cutely in front of her.

" Are you being for real?" she asked for confirmation and Remus kept his hand over his left chest. "I solemnly swear that I love her!" he exclaimed with a smile and went to the other side to get another cup of drink.

Now Ruby felt the need to drink as she followed her brother.

"Cheers !" she exclaimed aloud as she stood above a table. there were some muggle musics playing as she grooved her hips for those songs, still standing above the table.

Suddenly, she felt someone lifting her above their shoulder as she dropped her glass, not that everyone heard. Ruby slapped the person's back and whined. She didn't knew where he was taking, but she could sense that he was taking her inside one of the dorms.

"Put me down! My drink!" She yelled as she bit his shoulder a bit harshly.

"Holy Merlin!" The person exclaimed as he dropped Ruby on the bed. She eyed him carefully and recognised who that person was.

"Sirius Black?" She said in a sleepy manner.

"You recognised me only after you bit my shoulder?" He asked sassily as he rubbed his shoulder in pain. Ruby stood on her feet and made her way towards him sloppily.

"I'm sorry" she muttered as her bangs towered over her eyelashes. She softly rubbed the place where she'd bitten. Sirius looked at her as he let out a chuckle.

"Hey, it's fine. I'm not in that pain" he said, but she didn't even bothered to listen. She was just rubbing the same spot, still muttering 'sorry'. Sirius was confused of her behavior. He knew that never in his life, she'd said sorry to him with this much passion.

And he realized.

She was drunk.

"I'm sorry, I'm so bad" she whined. Sirius cupped her cheeks and pushed those bangs away from her brown eyes, which were filled with tears. He frowned as he wiped the tears with his thumb.

" Don't cry, it's not paining" he said with a soft smile, thinking how affectionate she is to him.

" Who said that I was crying for you?" She asked sassily as that smile faded as his lips formed a thin line. He sighed and shook his head, before locking his eyes with Ruby.

"Can I say something?" She asked, looking back at his grey eyes.

"Yeah, sure" he said and wondered about the way she was going to roast him once again.

"You eyes are so...." She trailed on as she kept her hand on his cheek which startled Sirius.

"So... beautiful ? Yeah, beautiful " she whispered before closing her eyes as her body fell against Sirius and he held her in his arms in reflex.

"Ruba? Ruby? " He asked out, but there was no reply. He assumed it as she fell asleep. And there was no way in bringing her out of the dorm. He carried her in his arms and laid her softly in Remus's bed thinking that she might freakout when she wakes up in the morning.

Once she laid comfortably in the bed, Sirius took out the blanket which was given to him by some unknown pure soul and wrapped it around her.

Ruby opened her eyes little and saw the blanket which her mom gifted her and smile, before pulling it against her chest and mumbled

"My blanket...." Sirius froze at her statement. Was she the one who made him sleep comfortably by giving the blanket to him? Was she this unknown pure soul? Sirius smiled softly as he kissed her forehead and caressed her hair.

"Good night, Ruba" he said and walked out of the room, to inform his roomates about Ruby sleeping in their dorm with a little grin.
