Remus is a valiant knight. At the first yell of his name, he had taken his sword and come running. He skids, just in time to save his prince.
Sirius was in the other room. His form glued to a corner as he shakily points to the culprit.
"What is it my love ?" Remus asks, pushing Sirius behind him. Sword protecting his lover.
Sirius clung to his arm. "The monster ! He's back !"
Remus kisses his hair. "Stay here. I'll protect you."
"Be careful. You can do this." Sirius lets him go.
His brave knight, ready to fight for his safety. Remus raises his sword and crept closer to where Sirius pointed. The monster must have hidden behind the chairs and tables. Trembling in fear.
Remus unfurls the newspaper in his hand and peels off one layer. Gently, he slid the paper under the spider. Once the bug was on it, he instructs Sirius to open the window.
"There you go." Remus says as the spider crawled outside.
"Is it done ?" Sirius asks on his tip-toes, trying to peek from over Remus' shoulder.
"Yes, it's gone."
Sirius hoots, throwing his arms in the air as if he'd won gold in the Olympics. Remus shakes his with the fondest smile on his face.
"You know you could do it yourself right." Remus teases.
He knows Sirius will never go near a spider. Not even with a 15 meter stick in his hand.
"No." Sirius points a finger at him. "That's why I have you."
Remus puts the newspaper on their dinner table. Freeing his hands to wrap his arms around Sirius' waist, pulling him close.
"Is that why you keep me around ? To catch spiders for you hmm ?" Remus tucks a lock of hair behind his ear.
Sirius grins cutely. "Yes. The reason why I married you in the first place. My knight in shining armor."
Remus laughs at that. He taps Sirius' thigh and easily catches him once he jumps. He brings them out of the kitchen, not taking his eyes off Sirius.
"More like shining sweater."
Sirius shrugs, kissing his lips. "My knight all the same."
Damn right, Remus smirks. He's his knight. The prince who'll save him from danger. Most importantly, his lover who'll see the stars held in his eyes only.
