Chapter 20: Overwatch

Ava stayed a couple of weeks in the hospital until she was better and was able to go home, during these days Leslie visited her and told her that Luke and Kai vanished and left them a new house with a couple of thousand dollars. It was the day Ava was to be discharged from the hospital and into their new home, Leslie drove her to their new home. "Woah, are you sure we're at the right house?" Ava asked, "Yeah, that's what I asked too, at least we have a lot of space to ourselves, there is also a pool around the back" Leslie got Ava's belongings and helped her to her room, they put everything away and went to the pool at the back of the house and just sat to enjoy the view. "So, let me get this straight, you and Luke were dating, and you were loyal?" Ava queried, "Don't sound so surprised" Leslie answered. "I have a right to be surprised, I'm so happy for you", "Yeah, we were happy but then he just left, he said he had to protect me". "Kai said the same thing" Ava uttered, "Yeah, what a load of bull" Leslie yelled."We are perfectly capable of taking care of ourselves" She claims, "Yeah, I don't think so, I got kidnapped like twice" Ava mentioned. "Well, it's still not an excuse for them leaving" Leslie states, "Yeah, now we're all alone in this huge house" Ava sighed, "Not anymore"."Why?", "Because we are going to the club" Leslie annonces. "I'm not in the mood to go partying right now" Ava remarked, "Come on it will make you feel way better". "Ugh, fine" Ava said in defeat, Hours passed by and they were finally ready for the club. Some of the people outside then admire their style and grace as they walk into the club as the light from the neon sign bounces off their bodies."Excuse muah while I go get drunk and party on the dance floor" , "Go for it" Ava ushered. Ava sits at the bar and laughs as she watches Leslie dance, "What a pretty girl like you doing here sitting all by yourself?" the bartender questioned. "Drowning my sorrows with alcohol", "Yeah, I get that, a tip if I may?" the bartender suggested. "Mhm" Ava replied, "If you keep doing this it'll tear you apart, you just have to take small steps one day at a time and then you'll feel better with the results", "Thanks" Ava said.Hours pass by and Ava is still sitting at the bar surprisingly sober while Leslie is on the dance floor swaying her body with a bunch of vultures aka men, Leslie then walks over to Ava. "This is so fun!" she yelled over the loud music, "I think you have had too much to drink, Let's get you home" Ava then walks Leslie through the parking lot and to their car, while Ava was walking, she realizes that someone was following them. Ava then lays Leslie in the back of the car, she then sneaks and hides until the person comes up to the car, suddenly Ava punches the man in his face, holds his shoulder, and snaps the bone in his ankle, the man then falls to the ground and screams in pain."Why are you following us!?" Ava interrogates, The man continues to scream in pain, Ava then digs her heel into his ankle causing more pain. "Tell me NOW!", "I was told to!" the man confessed. "By who?" Ava asks, "I can't!" the man claimed. Ava then digs, even more, harder into his ankle. "Tell me right now or you'll be leaving here with one leg!" Ava warns."Mr.Varnava!" Ava then eases up off the man, "Kai?".
