Chapter 60: Regrets

It was in the middle of the night and everyone was gathered in the living room. "So Ludriel, Marcaida, and Garai have teamed up together" Leslie asks, "Yup" Ava replied. "Things just got a lot more complicated," Marcy says. "How are we gonna fight this" Ermani asks, "I don't know, Let's start by getting every single one of the men from Detroit and bring them here, we need all the help we can get" Kai states. "Kai I-" Ava tries to say, "The league has a truce with some of the other leagues right?" Kai says. "Right" Luke agrees, "So we can ask for their help too". "Kai-", "We also need to gather some weapons and artifacts from our past lives and-""Kai" Ava called, "Sorry I didn't hear what you're saying" Kai says. "Nevermind, it can wait for later", "Okay, for now, we get some rest then regroup later on". "Okay" Ermani says, Ava and Kai walked up the stairs and on their way to the room, Ava suddenly began feeling dizzy, she almost stumbled but she caught her balance. "Babe, I don't think you're okay", "No I'm fine" Ava claims. They kept walking and walking but Ava's vision began fading, Fading away until she couldn't see anything, Suddenly Ava collapsed on the floor unconscious. ~~~~~~~~"Ava...Wake up" Kai says, Ava opened her eyes wearily, she realized that her surroundings were different, she heard monitors beating to a rhythm, she felt a loose feeling in her clothing, the distinctive talking in the background, the bright light hit her eyes like a never-ending shock, she was in a hospital room. "Hey princess", "What happened?" Ava asks. "You fainted, we took you to the hospital right away", "You took quite the nap there sore eyes," Ermani says. "I-" The doctor then entered the room, she grabbed a seat and slid over to Ava, "Nice to see you up Ms.Varnava, how are you feeling?" The doctor questioned. "Fine I guess" Ava replied, "You had us all worried" Leslie expressed."It's okay, I'm fine now" Ava assured, " Now Ms.Varnava I do wanna mention the fact that I did do an ultrasound just in case there's any chance that you're-" before the doctor could finish her sentence, Ava joins in and says "Don't worry about it-I don't mind". "Incase she's what?" Kai asks, "In case she's-". "Don't finish that sentence" Ava says to the doctor, "Ava What's going on? Tell me I'm sure it can't be that bad" Kai assured. "I'm pregnant" Ava reveals, The room became silent, the sound of silence was piercing. "You're pregnant?" Kai asks. "I found out a couple of hours ago, I was gonna tell you-" All of a sudden Kai's body shut down like a dead ps4 controller but luckily Ermani swiftly caught him before his head could hit the ground. "I got this" Ermani says, Suddenly Ermani gave Kai a huge shrew slap across Kai's face, and sure enough, it jolted Kai awake. "Ow! What the hell man!" Kai shrieked, :You're welcome buddy," Ermani replies. "Damn it, Ermani, I wanted to be the one who hit him!" Leslie complained, "Guys, could I have the room for a second?" Ava requests. Leslie, Marcy, Ermani, Luke, and the Doctor all exited the room, leaving Ava and Kai alone, "Are you mad at me?" Ava asks. "No princess, why would I be? I'm happy!" Kai confessed, "You are?". "Yes, I know I'm not the sentimental type of person but you having our child, it's everything I could ask for" Kai expressed, "Yeah, this is gonna be difficult"."I know and I hope you can forgive me for what I'm gonna do but, I need you to go away for a while" Kai said, "What-Why?" Ava queried. "For the sake of the baby, just me being here puts you both at risk and I don't want anything to happen to you guys", "No-". "Damn it, Ava! I don't want this child to be a part of this life, I don't want him or her to watch their father take a life without a second thought, I KILL PEOPLE AVA AND I DON'T REGRET IT!" Kai argues, "Kai Don't leave our child, I thought you loved me!" Ava retorted."I do!", "Then why are you doing this!?" Ava asked. "JESUS AVA! I'm a monster okay! I don't want this baby to end up like me!". "He won't" Ava assures, " I'm done arguing with you, I'm booking a flight for you, Leslie and Marcy to anywhere but here TOMORROW!" Kai states, "Kai don't do this to our baby! What am I supposed to say when they ask about their dad? "Oh I'm sorry but daddy had to go kill a bunch of bad men so he left mommy on her own" huh? Do you want me to say that?!". Kai then walked out of the room and slammed the door behind him, Ava was left alone in the room, crying a never-ending river of tears. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It was now morning, Ava got released from the hospital and everyone got back to the mansion, no one said anything the whole ride. Ava ran up the stairs and got in her bed before Kai could say anything, a couple of seconds Kai joined her in the room. "Ava, get up" he says, "I'm not going, end of discussion" Ava declared. "I'm not playing games with you-", "Me neither!". "Fine, be this way" Kai left the room in a huff, a couple of seconds passed and Ava could hear knocks coming from the door."Come in" Ava says, The door opened, and Leslie and Marcy came from behind it and approached the bed. "Hey, I couldn't help but notice that things between you and Kai are tense" Leslie mentions, "Are you okay?" Marcy asks. "No, Kai wants to put me on a plane away from him" Ava let out, "What, why!?" Leslie asks, "He says it's to protect me and the baby, He's sending you both with me". "What a load of bull!" Marcy scoffs, "The hell he is" Leslie says. "He'll probably get Luke and Ermani to agree with him" Ava figured, "They can't do this to us". "And We're not gonna let them win," Ava stated.
