LISA
"Lisa... I know I screwed up... I'm just trying to tell you that I like you, maybe more than I actually thought."
This sentence stays in my head for a few seconds. Excuse me, what? Jennie looked at me intently.
"Is that so bad for you? If so..." I said bitterly and shook my head.
"You don't have to tell me that. I know that too." Jennie rolled her eyes.
"Hey hey! I'm mad at you, not you at me!" I defended myself and closed both arms together.
"You're such a stubborn person!"
"I know and I'm pretty proud of that too." But my words didn't end.
"Lisa?" I looked at her expectantly.
"Yes?"
"I know it might be inappropriate... but I can't take it anymore..." I blinked several times as she suddenly came closer to me.
She was getting closer to me? Weren't we just insulting?
She put her hand on my cheek and stroked it with her finger.
"Lali... Can I kiss you?" I looked at her in shock.
A small nod came unexpectedly from me and before I knew it, her lips were on mine. For the first time I was completely overwhelmed. I wasn't expecting that at all. Her lips were soft, warm and so seductive that they captivated me. Just like last night...
Slowly and carefully I began to return the kiss. This made Jennie smile.
My stomach felt like it was doing loops. Incredibly many loops.
With a breath she pulled away from me and looked into my eyes.
"You're driving me crazy, Lisa."
Shocked by her words, I remained silent and bit my lip. Was it real? Was this all real?
"Did that really just happen?" I mumbled against her lips.
Jennie started grinning again and nodded.
"Yes, that just happened." To prove it, she pulled me closer to her again and put her lips on mine again and just like before, it enchanted me.
Jennie lay down next to me. She put her arm around my neck so that I could lie on her arm. She carefully covered us and placed her head close to mine.
"Does the wound still hurt?" I asked out of nowhere. She sighed and nodded slightly.
"Now and then."
"How did that even happen?" I asked quietly, waiting for her beautiful lips to move.
"A knife. Luckily it's not half as bad."
My throat went dry. The thought of Jennie being attacked with a knife was so incredibly horrific that it made my throat tighten. Jennie looked at me quietly and stroked my hand the cheek.
"I'm so glad you weren't here. Such bad things could have happened." I laughed briefly.
"So it was a good thing you were such an asshole?" Jennie smiled and put the strand of hair out of my face.
"Yes, but also no. You deserve to be treated well."
"You as well."
Silence fell.
"What do we do now?" I shrugged briefly and closed my eyes.
"Maybe just lie here and enjoy?"
"That sounds good." Jennie laughed, leaning closer to me.
"Jennie?"
"Mh?"
"Do you think it will end at some point? I mean the escape?"
"Yes, I think so, Lisa. Everything will find an end. Whether now or later. I'll take care of you."
"I know. I just don't want to run away and be afraid anymore. I don't want to worry about you or anyone else." Jennie gently stroked my cheek again.
"I promise you, soon you won't have to do that anymore." I nodded slowly and gave in to the tiredness.
"Close your eyes, be still and calm."
"Close your eyes, be still and calm."
"Close your eyes, be still and calm."
"But I don't want to."
"Lali. It's late, my child. You should be rested."
"Resting is boring."
"Lisa!" She said indignantly and pecked me on the side.
"Ouch, mommy!" I cried out and clutched her neck.
"Did you know that your hair is so beautifully blonde? They smell sooo great too." Intrigued, I pulled her hair lightly.
"You'll have that later too. Believe me, my darling. I can already see them on your beautiful head."
"Mom, you are beautiful. You are the most beautiful mom in the whole world."
She pushed a strand of hair away from my face and used it to tickle my cheek.
"My Lisa. No matter what it will be like later. Become a strong girl, yeah? Things happen. They are not pre-programmed. Be confident, don't let yourself get down and don't turn your head to boys too much."
"Turn my head? How is that supposed to work?" I giggled and thought about her words.
"Do you want to go, mommy? Do you want to go away?" She smiled slightly and shook her head.
"No, I don't. I don't want to go but others do. So always take care of yourself. Don't trust anyone who isn't your father or me."
"I don't get into the car with strangers. That's how you taught me anyway." Mom laughed and tilted her head.
"You're such a smart girl, Lisa. Make something of it."
"Of course, mommy. I'm going to be a princess."
"Sleep, my darling. I love you."
"I love you too, mommy."
She slowly got up and disappeared out the door.
Unexpectedly, I reached up in bed. My breathing was too fast and my heart wouldn't let me calm down.
"Lisa?" Jennie asked quietly and looked up at me. Luckily the blinds were down. I didn't want to show Jennie my half-tear-stained face.
"Everything's fine." I said quietly.
She slowly sat up. I immediately felt her presence behind me. She slowly gently stroked my back.
"Dreamed badly." I nodded slowly and held my breath.
Her touch caused a tingling sensation. Such a wonderful tingling sensation that gave me security.
"Try to go back to sleep. I'll stay with you too." She whispered in my ear and then kissed the place under my ear.
I slowly leaned back into bed. I closed my eyes slowly. I only heard mine and Jennie's breathing before I went back into a dreamless sleep.
