Today, I was stupid and listened to Pompeii by Bastille. Man, did that song make me cry after the finale and looking forward to season 5 and what will happen. So I decided to share my pain with you.

"I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show
And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we loved
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above,"
Killian sat in the Charmings' loft, his eyes burning with unshed tears and a horrible memory replaying in his mind.
"I love you," she'd said.
And it wasn't that Killian hadn't known. He'd known. It was the fact that he was in such shock, that he hadn't been able to say it back. Now it was too late. Too late to tell her his feelings, too late to stop her, too late for anything. She was gone.
Killian wanted to summon her, but David had convinced him not to.
"We don't know what state she'll be in right now and taking the chance of her hurting any of us will only hurt her. We'll wait for Rumplestiltskin to wake up and we'll take to him. We will get her back," he'd promised.
But Killian felt alone.
Sure, her parents and son cared for him, but once again, he'd lost his love because of Rumplestiltskin.
"But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?"
Over the next few days, Killian was a wreck.
Everything he saw, everywhere he went, he thought of Emma.
The Sheriff's station became the meeting and planning grounds of sorts and whenever he sat on Emma's desk and listened to David or Regina or even, at times, Gold plan, he'd close his eyes and he could almost feel Emma's hand in his and her head on his shoulder, as if they were watching that video of her as a girl all that time ago.
He'd walk from his ship to Granny's some mornings to join the Charmings for breakfast and he'd pretend that Emma walked beside him, holding his hand, a smile on her face.
But just as quickly as these memories came to him, he realized they were in the past and Emma wasn't here. She was gone and fighting an evil spirit.
He'd seen what it could do.
The Rumplestiltskin that was now assisting in finding Emma was certainly not the man he'd been as the Dark One.
Killian knew his Swan was strong, but could she fight that?
Killian wasn't sure he could fight the pain of missing her.
"Oh, where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?"
But the day came that Regina had found a way to stop this. Well, a potential way.
True Love's Kiss could break any curse, right?
She'd told Killian to stand on the deck of his ship and summon her. David, Snow, Regina, Robin, Belle, Rumple and Henry would be out of view, ready to stop Emma if anything bad happened.
Killian had been keeping the dagger. He took it out of his jacket and looked down at it sadly.
He looked to Regina who was behind a cargo box and she nodded reassuringly.
He took a deep breath and spoke. "Dark One, I summon thee,"
Nothing.
"Emma Swan," he tried again, still, she didn't appear.
"Dammit, Swan! Emma please!" He called desperately.
"Killian. Turn around," he heard a soft voice behind him.
He turned around slowly and saw her.
She still looked like Emma, despite the tired expression and the sad look in her eyes.
Killian slowly approached her, his hand out in front of him, asking a silent question.
She took it gently.
"I missed you," she said sadly.
"Emma, are you... Alright?" He asked cautiously.
She let out a breathy laugh.
"Depends how you define alright. I still feel like me, most of the time, but most things seem blurred, good and bad decisions, people, everything. Except you. You're never blurred and how I feel is the same," she said, tightening her grip on his hand and bringing more hope than he'd felt in weeks to his heart, "But I can't stay here. I'm too dangerous," she said, crushing his hopes.
"Emma, I-"
"Don't," she said, letting go of his hand.
"You need to know, Swan,"
"I do. But I want you to tell me and only me when you say it. Not me and the spirit of the Dark One," she said with watery eyes.
From the corner of his eye, Killian saw David nothing something. Kiss her.
Killian took a deep breath and lunged at Emma, crushing his lips to hers.
He felt a wave of magic pass through them and Emma stopped the kiss to look at him in shock.
"I think-"
"It's working, Swan. Kiss me again," he said.
She leaned forward again.
Neither of them were sure how long it took, but eventually, a stronger wave went through them, sending the two flying opposite ways.
The dagger clattered to the ground and Emma rushed to pick it up.
It was blank.
For a moment, she looked around, dreading the spirit would attack its next victim, but nothing happened.
The curse was really broken.
Emma's eyes shot to Killian's then and she ran to him with a huge smile, enveloping him in a massive hug, tackling him to the ground.
"I love you too," Killian whispered into her hair before she kissed him.
"So if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?"
