It had been exactly one day since Killian had almost died.

It had been one day since Emma had saved him, one day since they'd both admitted their love for each other.

It had been one day since their relationship had grown to a new level.

Emma had been out early that morning -unwillingly, mind you- on sheriff duty. Belle had called her, wanting to apologize, yet again for her husband almost killing Emma's boyfriend.

Rumple, who had disappeared after Emma had obtained Killian's heart hadn't shown up yet and Belle was in the pawn shop.

After assuring Belle that it wasn't her fault for the fifth time in the past twelve hours, Emma walked outside, intending on driving to Granny's to wake Killian up so they could have breakfast together with Emma's family.

Killian, however had other plans. As soon as Emma had left his bed at Granny's where she'd stayed the night, he'd woken up. He didn't want to worry her though so he didn't get up until she left.

Now, he stood against her yellow bug, one coffee balanced on the roof of her car, the other in his hand.

When Emma walked out of Rumplestiltskin's shop, Killian cringed. He'd had just about enough of the crocodile for more than a lifetime and he wasn't at all comfortable with the woman he loved going near him.

Emma saw Killian and smiled bright and beautiful. "Hey! I was just coming to ask if you wanted to get breakfast," she said casually.

Emma must have realized his distressed expression because she leaned in to kiss him lightly. "Don't worry, he's not in there, Belle still doesn't know where he is," she assured him after they broke apart.

Killian sighed in relief and Emma put her hand on his heart, felling the steady thump.

She smiled up at him and he grinned back. "It's still there sweetheart," he promised.

"Good," Emma said as Killian handed her the coffee he'd bought her at the diner.

Emma sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're too sweet and I love you," she laughed, earning a bright smile from Killian.

"And I love you. You have no idea how much I missed being able to fully love you these past few weeks, Emma," Killian said, a certain tenderness in his gaze that Emma had missed when he didn't have his heart.

Emma smiled at him once again. "Belle feels so bad about it, Killian," Emma said sadly.

Killian frowned and walked toward the shop. When he entered, he looked around cautiously before going to find Belle who was standing at the front counter.

"Hook!" Belle said, looking surprised that he'd come in.

Emma had caught up to him at this point, putting her arms around his waist and his went around Emma's shoulders.

"Killian, I cannot tell you how sorry I am-" Belle started but Killian shook his head.

"It's not your fault. Gold had us all tricked, me included," Killian said kindly.

Belle sighed. "I was wrong about you. You're so much different than you used to be. You don't have a rotten heart. It's bright and filled with kindness and love," she said.

Killian looked at Emma, asking her a silent question.

"Belle?" Emma asked, "Would you like to come for breakfast at Granny's with Killian and I? My family will be there too," she said.

Belle smiled slightly. "That... That's sound wonderful. Of course. Thank you," she said.

Emma nodded, walking back to the door.

"Is it alright if I grab something from the library quickly? I do to want you paying for my breakfast," Belle said.

Emma and Killian nodded, and the three of them left the pawn shop.

Walking down the street, Emma kept her arm around Killian's waist, his still around her shoulders. Emma didn't plan on letting go of Killian, not after yesterday... Not after last night when they'd finally... Come together. Emma could already tell it had made them closer and she cherished it.

They walked a bit behind Belle, giving her space, knowing she was going through a lot right now.

"My parents are going to be asking where I was last night," Emma sighed, looking at Killian.

He smirked. "Well, love, you could always tell them you were busy-" Emma elbowed him in the ribs.

"How about no?" Emma laughed.

As they approached the library, Belle was unlocking it and turned around to smile at them.

"You two are adorable, you know that?" She laughed before quickly running inside the library to grab some money.

When she returned, the three walked down the street towards the diner where they found David, Mary Margaret and David, baby Neal, Henry, Regina, Robin and Roland waiting for them.

As soon as Henry spotted Killian he ran to him, attacking him with a massive hug.

"You almost died?!?!? I miss everything! You aren't allowed to die, Killian. Because if you do, I'll kill you. Plus nobody wants to deal with my broken hearted mother," Henry stated seriously.

Killian looked shocked that Henry had hugged him but started laughing, accompanied by Emma, Regina and David.

"Won't I already be dead? How would you...?"

"Hey! I said no dying!"

"But-?"

Everyone was laughing at Killian's confusion at that point.

"Bloody hell..." He mumbled, taking a seat beside Henry, who'd say back down.

Emma smiled at her parents as she sat down.

"Emma, where...?" David started, glancing at Killian, the returning his gaze back to her. "You know what? Never mind. Don't wanna hear about it," he said quickly, earning a chuckle from his wife and Killian.

Sitting in that booth at Granny's, surrounded by her family, Emma Swan felt truly happy.

A part of her would always be that lost little girl she'd grown up as deep down, but now, that girl was a woman who was in love, who was loved, who had a family.

And she couldn't be happier, despite the threat that Gold still posed for the town, she still had to enjoy the moments.

This was one of them.
