Emma reflects on her hectic day after saving Killian. Post 4x11 with some flashbacks from the episode. Just my way of filling in the blanks the episode left. Inspired by "Down" by Jason Walker. Spoilers ahead, obviously!

As she sat in a corner booth at Granny's Diner, curled up into her idiot pirate boyfriend's side, her arms wrapped possessively around his waist, she sighed contentedly.
Killian smiled down at her, that sparkle in his eyes that she'd missed so much there once again.
The dumb pirate had come so close to dying and she was so mad at him. But at the same time, she refused to let go of him.
Emma returned the smile and let her mind wander, thinking of how they ended up here, celebrating the sacrifice of Ingrid, and now, the defeat of Rumplestiltskin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Earlier that day ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Anna revealed that Gold had been lying about knowing her, Emma knew they needed to find him. And she suspected Killian would be with him.
He hadn't seemed right since the mansion, but this afternoon, he really seems off. Like it wasn't really him talking to her...
That's exactly when it all clicked and Emma bolted out of the mansion. She could hear her mother's footsteps behind her, but she didn't care.
Killian was being controlled. Gold had his heart. That was why he'd been acting so off.
Emma wasn't sure where exactly she was going, but somehow, she ended up at the clock tower.
At his point, Mary Margaret had caught up to her and lightly touched Emma's arm as they got in the elevator.
"Emma-"
"No. He's here, I know it," she cut her mother off.
As soon as the elevator opened, Emma ran out of it, seeing Gold and Killian. She had been right. In Rumplestiltskin's hand, was a heart. And just by looking at it, she could tell that it was her pirate's heart.
"Gold! Stop!" Emma cried, livid at the man for hurting Killian, controlling him and using him for whatever plan he had.
Gold replied with something about "I've been waiting to long for this!" In an all too cheery voice.
Emma tried to throw magic his way, but suddenly, she was frozen in place. Unable to move.
She saw Gold say something to a terrified looking Killian before he started to squeeze his heart.
Emma felt a sharp pain in her chest, but as she couldn't move, nothing could be done. Instead, a single tear trailed down her cheek as she watched the man she loved die.
She hadn't even been able to tell him because she'd been to scared. She wished she could've been able to at least say goodbye, I love you, anything really, but here she was. Helpless, useless, pathetic. Watching Killian die at the hands of his worst enemy.
She didn't see Belle, who creeped up the stairs, silently taking the dagger, a look of devastated determination plastered on her face.
Belle and Rumple had a brief conversation, Rumple pleading, before Emma, along with her mother beside her were unfrozen. At this point, Killian had his heart back, gently, but protectively caressing it in his hands, against his chest. He kept smiling down at Emma.
Belle commanded her husband to take them to the town line and suddenly, the two were gone.
Emma wasted no time in running up the stairs to Killian, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
Mary Margaret stayed where she was, observing the couple's reunion.
"You," she said, her voice muffled from being buried in Killian's shoulder, "Are an absolute idiot."
"Aye, of that I'm aware," Killian answered.
Emma shook her head, looking at him.
"You wanna explain to me how the hell you ended up without a heart?!?"
Killian chuckled. "Of course, love, but first, shall we get somewhere safe to, uh, put this back where it belongs?" He asked.
Emma nodded. Killian handed the heart to her, placing it in the palms of her hands. He smiled before shaking his head.
"On second thought, that right there is where it should be. It does belong to you, after all."
Emma rolled her eyes at him.
"Sweet talking won't get you out of this one buddy. Let's go," she took his hand firmly, his heart safely in her other hand.
Upon arriving at Granny's, Emma dragged Killian into the back room.
"You almost died," she said.
"Emma-"
"I almost lost you. You need to stop doing that," she interrupted.
"But you didn't..."
"That isn't the point. Do that again and I swear, Killian, I will lose it. Do you think I would simply be able to get over you? I would be a wreck... Probably forever. You're not allowed to do this again, understand?"
Killian nodded.
"Okay then," Emma sighed in relief. She stared at his heart for a moment before looking up at him.
He gave her one of his signature smirks. "Just be gent- OOMPH!" He cried out as Emma shoved his heart back into his chest.
Emma felt bad because she hurt him, but she was able to get some of her anger out.
"Sorry... I just though if I did I quickly, it'd be like ripping off a-" she was cut off by his lips crashing into hers.
His hand cupped the back of her head to stop the impact from him walking her over to the wall.
He stopped the kiss first. Killian smiled down at Emma. "I told you, Swan. I'm a survivor."
Emma smiled brightly, leaning her head against the wall. "You almost weren't," she quipped.
Killian sighed, shaking his head dramatically. "You know, a few weeks ago, you wouldn't have cared much," he said, a hint of sadness laced his voice.
Emma shook her head. "I've always cared. Even then I would've been devastated. I just wouldn't admit it."
That made him smile.
After that, Emma left Killian to go talk to Regina, to assure she was okay.
Later on though, when she returned to the diner, she found her pirate sitting at a booth, like it was a normal day in Storybrooke. She smiled and sat down beside him.
"Hey," she said, leaning her shoulder on his head, "want company?"
"From you, my love, any time," Killian said with a soft smile.
Emma wrapped her arms around his waist.
And as she sat in a corner booth at Granny's Diner, curled up into her idiot pirate boyfriend's side, her arms wrapped possessively around his waist, she sighed contentedly.
Killian smiled down at her, that sparkle in his eyes that she'd missed so much there once again.
The dumb pirate had come so close to dying and she was so mad at him. But at the same time, she refused to let go of him.
For once, she was happy and safe, and she intended on enjoying it.
