Heart to Heart

Captain Swan, and just ouat in general are killing me right now and I can't deal with it. A bit of angst, but a happy ending because I can't bear to think of losing my Killybear.

Emma knew something was wrong with Killian. She could tell by the way he never looked her in the eye, she could tell by the way he'd stare at her, as if it was the last time he'd see her.

Little did she know that could very well have been the truth. Killian knew that every time he saw his Swan, it was quite possibly the last. He never knew when the crocodile would crush his heart and his promise of being a survivor would crumble along with it.

No, he didn't know when he'd be gone forever, but while he was still here, he'd make sure Emma was loved more than ever.

Killian made sure she knew he cared about her. (Loved her. But she wasn't quite ready to hear that, he knew...) He kissed her every time he saw her, hugged her whenever he felt she needed the support, held her hand when she was vexed.

Killian made sure he made the most of the time he had left with her. It proved harder, because without his heart, he still loved her -so much- but it was an odd feeling. Like his head was under water and he couldn't feel that fire that only Emma could make him feel.

Killian Jones loved Emma Swan, but apparently, not enough.

When Emma figured it out one morning after a very heated kiss when he came to pick her up for breakfast as she'd slid her hand down his chest to rest on his heart and she'd felt nothing, Killian thought he wasn't enough.

The look of pure horror on her face was killing him and tears welled up in her eyes and she shook her head.

"Why didn't you tell me," she asked, looking hurt and betrayed.

"I couldn't," he managed in a quiet whisper.

"Couldn't? Or didn't want to?" She demanded, taking a step back.

"The crocodile," he snarled, "he... He won't. Let. Me," he struggled, feeling Rumplestiltskin's will against his heart, telling him "No. Tell her and you die,"

Emma shook her head sadly and fell back into his arms.

"We're going to get your heart back and then I'm going to kick your ass for going near him, do you understand me?" She sobbed into his shoulder.

He nodded with a slight chuckle. "But I'll kick his first for going near my boyfriend," she added.

Killian wanted to protest, but before he knew it, she was dragging him along with her to Gold's shop.

Emma was on the phone with her father who was meeting them at the shop, along with Elsa and Belle.

When Killian and Emma arrived, the other three were already waiting for them. David gave Killian a sad glance while Elsa came up and patted Emma on the back. "We'll get it back, I promise," she said.

Belle looked shocked that her husband would do so something like this, but came over and smiled sadly at him.

"Hook, I'm so sorry. I don't know why he'd do this, I thought he'd changed," Belle said.

Killian nodded and Emma took his hand, leading him into the shop.

"WHERE THE HELL IS IT, GOLD?!?!?" Emma yelled upon entering.

"I've no idea what you're speaking of, Ms Swan," Rumple said with mock innocence.

"Save it crocodile. They know you have my heart. Hand it over," Killian said.
