Before they begin to head back to town, Killian said his goodbye to Robin while Emma waited behind him.

He was back, and Emma couldn't be happier, but she knew there would be mixed feelings when her family found out. Particularly from Regina. She knew and understood that Regina probably wouldn't be ecstatic that Killian was alive.

That was why she told him to wait in his old room at the Bed and Breakfast while she went to reception. "We probably shouldn't turn Robin's funeral reception into a welcome home party..." She'd said.

Killian understood completely, and after bidding her goodbye with a firm but sweet kiss that confirmed that he was in fact there, he made his way to his room to wait for her.

She composed herself before entering Granny's. Her mother greeted her immediately.

"Emma, I was getting worried! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine mom. Can we talk, actually? Like... Not here?" Emma said quietly as not to be overheard. She'd made the decision to tell her parents about Killian, tonight. She'd let the rest of the town know tomorrow, but for now she wanted to keep things on the down low and not makes things about her.

"Of course!" He mother replied enthusiastically.

"Dad too," Emma whispered.

David caught his wife's eye from across the diner, and she made a small motion, telling him to follow them.

"What's going on, is everything okay?" David asked as Emma led them into the hallway in front of Killian's room. She stopped outside the door and smiled at her parents.

"Everything is fine. I can't really explain it all, so just let me show you, okay?" She said, knocking lightly on the door.

In seconds, the door opened, revealing her dashing pirate, just as she'd left him, with a shy smile on his face as he held the door open for Emma and her parents.

He closed the door behind him and turned to face two very confused royals, and one who wrapped herself in his arms once again.

"So, obviously you have questions, but we have to make one thing clear first; no one finds out about this until things clear over. Give the town a night to mourn Robin. We'll tell them tomorrow," Emma said, leaning into Killian.

"How?" Snow reached for Killian ever so slightly to make sure he was actually real, "You said he couldn't come back, that he was going to move on."

"Zeus sent me back as a reward for assisting in defeating his brother, it appears. I thought I was moving on, but when I walked through the light, I ended up in the graveyard, behind Emma. He told me he was sending me where I belong, I suppose that's here," he smiled down and Emma.

"He sent you to Emma," Snow grinned.

"So you're here for good this time? No more dying?" David asked.

"No, mate, I think I'm done with dying for quite a while," Killian chuckled.

"You'd better be," Emma mumbled, a subtle threat in her tone.

"You never actually told us what happened down there," Snow said, "why Killian couldn't come back with you."

Emma looked up at Killian. He pressed his forehead to hers quickly before leading her and her parents across the small room over to the tiny dining table that sat across from the bed.

The four sat down after Killian dug some rum out of the fridge, pouring a glass for everyone. They proceeded to tell the story of Hades' betrayal, and how they opened the door, leaving out just a few details, like their heartbreaking goodbye.

When they got to the part about being confirmed true love, Emma felt Killian take her hand softly.

By the end of the story, Snow was teary-eyed, David wore a small grin, and Emma had a firm grip on Killian's hand.

"So you two are true love? I'm so happy for you both," Snow said, "And we're glad you're back Killian. Emma was devastated that you didn't come back."

Emma sighed, leaning into him. "I glad to be back," he said, his arm instinctually going around Emma protectively.

"So what now? How are you going to prevent anyone else from finding out until tomorrow?" David asked.

"Well, remember that house that Dark Swan hid in? Turns out, Killian actually picked it out in Camelot for us. I think we'll spend the night there, and figure everything else out in the morning. Neither of us have had any sleep in weeks, with everything that's happened. We just need a night of peace." Emma explained.

"I think that a good idea, for both of you," Snow said, "Get some rest. We'll see you tomorrow."

With that, the Charmings left, but not before Snow surprised Killian with a hug, and David took his shoulder in a firm grasp with a "Don't leave her again, pirate."

"Never again," he promised as the royals left the small hotel room.

"Ready to go home?" Emma asked.

"Home. I could get used to the sound of that," Killian grinned.

Emma smiled back and pooled them to their home by the ocean.

(Not half an hour later, Henry burst into the house, heading straight to the couch where Emma and Killian sat and hugged Killian.

Over the next hour several citizens of Storybrooke showed up at the front door to find out if the saviour's boyfriend really was back from the dead. It got to a point where Emma had to make a sign that she stuck to her door before her and Killian headed up to bed.

"Yes he's here, we're sleeping, wake us up and deal with the wraith of two sleep-deprived, former dark ones. You can all see him tomorrow. Go home."

Who said Snow White could keep a secret, anyway?)
