Written at 2:00am after three months of crazy writer's block, powered by a ridiculous amount of caffeine, and depressing as hell songs playing. Somehow this didn't end up sad though so idk?

When they finally, finally had a moment to themselves, Emma and Killian wanted nothing more than to sleep.

But of course that wasn't an option, it never was. Their happy bliss lasted precisely seven seconds. Emma swore that must have been some sort of new record.

Literally, the second they walked in the diner, Regina called her to inform her of an issue with Hyde, saying to meet her and Henry in the loft. Cue her, Killian, David and Zelena leaving to find Regina while her mother stayed back with Jekyll.

"Bloody hell, that didn't last," Killian muttered as he laced his fingers with Emma's.

Emma just sighed, squeezing his hand in a silent "I'm sorry my family gets caught in the middle of every problem in this town."

When they arrived at the loft, Regina and Henry had already covered half the kitchen in spell books. Emma didn't even bother asking how they'd gotten in.

"Okay what's going on?" David asked, closing the door, as Zelena plopped down on the couch, shaking her head.

"Well basically Gold apparently sold the town to our friend Hyde and we're pretty much all screwed unless we can manage to find a way to get rid of evil doppelgängers that don't look like their other, much more chill halves," Henry explained, exasperated. "You know, I hadn't slept in, like, three days, and I was really hoping I'd get to sleep without worrying about anything bad happening to anyone else, but apparently not," her closed a book in frustration and stormed upstairs.

"Is anyone gonna tell him I haven't slept in several months, or...?" Emma groaned, leaving Killian's side to pick up one of Regina's old books.

"What exactly are we looking for, love?" Killian asked, sitting across from her at the kitchen table.

"Re-binding spells," Regina called from the stairs, "we need a way to get them back to one person. That way, the good will take over and we won't be dealing with someone who can't be reasoned with at all."

"Where's the spell like that for Gold?" Emma heard Killian mumble under his breath and couldn't help but giggle. That got his attention. He look up and smiled fondly at her. God, she'd missed that smile.

"Wait, Regina?" David rushed over to her, pointing to a page in an old red book, "Would this work?"

Regina looked at the spell bitterly for a moment before reading it aloud, "To reunite two halves of a whole, another is needed. The shared bond of romantic true love can undo any separation spell, so long as one of the halves possesses magic."

"So we need True Love? That's not difficult, we have the Charmings. One problem though, neither of them has magic," Zelena said, "Hades and Robin are gone, so we're back at square one. None of our true love couples has magic anymore."

Emma glanced at Killian across the table. They hadn't actually had a chance to tell their family about the events on their mission to find ambrosia. They shared a silent conversation, Killian nodded, and Emma spoke up. "Actually, that's not true."

Regina rolled her eyes dramatically. "Look, Emma, while none of us doubt you and the pirate, we need to be one hundred percent sure in order for this to work."

"Good, then this won't be a problem at all," Killian pitched in.

David's jaw dropped, Regina glared suspiciously, and Zelena look bored.

"What do you mean?" Emma's father asked.

"The Underworld. When we went down in the elevator to get the ambrosia. Hades lied about that, but he didn't lie about the test to get to it. I had to weigh my heart and if we were true love, the doors would open, letting us through to the tree I told you about," Emma explained.

"And they did," Killian finished. He swore he could see the slightest smile on David's face.

"Well then," Regina said, getting up, "what are waiting for?"
