"Oh god, what if it doesn't fit?" You examined your body in the full length mirror, stood up on a stood. Down to nothing but white pair of underwear.
"It'll fit. Stop worrying" your best friend assured you as Madi took the dress down from where it was hanging.
"We're going to get you into it. I promise. Look at you. You look hot as hell. You'll be fine" Madi promised, taking the hanger off the dress.
"What if I gained weight? I ate half a box of ice cream the other night" you confessed. "What if I made this too much about me? What if I didn't involve him enough? It's supposed to be our wedding" you took a shaky breath. "What if I don't deserve him?"
Madi quickly handed you your robe and help you put it on because your fingers were shaking, helping you sit on a chair and kneeling in front of you.
"Oh, honey" She whispered. "Do you know what he did last night"
You shook your head, dabbing your eyes.
"He called me because he couldn't sleep and do you now what he said?"
You shook your head again, feeling ridiculous for getting worked up on the biggest day of your lives.
"He said, Madi, I don't care how tomorrow ends up. We could get married in Target with a cheap radio and a plastic ring and I'd be happy. As long as I can marry her, that's all I want"
You smiled and nodded, relaxing a bit. "Madi" you hummed. "Your on anxiety control today, aren't you?"
She shrugged. "Seems that way" She squeezed your knee. "Now, let's get you to Matt before he loses it"
"I'm a mess"
Your makeup artist jumped in. "I'll fix you up"
Madi helped me back up on the step, taking your robe off. Your Mom squeezed your hand and smiled. MaryLou was on your other side, your best friend and the rest of your friends crowded around you as Madi took your dress and unzipped it.
"Ready?" She whispered, kneeling down to help you step into the dress, the ivory fabric sat at your feet.
You nodded, letting the women around you, hold on to you, as Madi slipped the dress up your legs. You clutched it, as it wrapped around your chest and settled on your hips.
You smiled. It was beautiful. It was simple, puffy, without being over the top. Around the waist was a band of diamonds. Matt hadn't seen the dress and you couldn't wait to see his face.
"The moment of truth" Madi whispered and you held your breath, as she pulled the zipper up your back and thankfully it closed.
"Oh, my god"
"Do you feel better?" She asked. "Fits like a glove"
"So much. Mom, have you seen my shoes?" You looked around for them.
"Here they are" Your Mom ducked and found the box with your royal blue heels. Your something blue. You braced a hand on your Mom's shoulder and MaryLou's as they helped you step into a shoe. MaryLou got the box that Matt gave you, along with the heart necklace with his initial.
"Well it's official" Madi said with her hand on her hip. "You look great"
"You look beautiful" MaryLou hugged you and kissed your cheek.
"Thank you" You hugged her tight. She fixed a piece of your hair. "Thank you for loving my boy"
You bit your lip trying not to cry, but her eyes were glossed over.
"Thank you for raising him" you whispered. Looking at her cream, knee length dress, both her and your mom were wearing. Madi adjusted the waist of her dress.
