Being a college student was not easy and you knew it.

You were in your second year studying English literature and each semester was harder than the one before, the work increased and you were exhausted.

In two weeks, you had to finish a 500 word essay about someone's writing, study for an exam for poetry and do a group project, which no one cared about in your group except you, so you had to do all the work.

When you got home, you broke down. Glad that Matt wasn't home. You didn't want to bother him with your problems, he already had enough going on at work, he didn't need more at home.

You took your clothes off because they were wet from the rain that poured down on you. You put your shoes by the door and your coat into the dryer. You left your bag on the floor and went upstairs to the bedroom you shared with your boyfriend.

You grabbed one of Matt's shirts and some new underwear, going straight into the bathroom to have a bath. You checked your phone, you had 17 missed messages from Matt.

"Hey baby how are you?"

"I love you"

"Don't forget your lunch"

"The rain is bad, do you need a ride home?"

"I'm stuck at work I wont make it home until dinner"

Your face fell when you saw the last message, you had a lot of work to do but you still wanted to have dinner with him. But you answered with a kind text, so you didn't worry him.

"Hey babe, I'm fine. I just got home"

"Please don't overwork yourself"

"I'll order a pizza or something for dinner"

When the bath was full, you took all your clothes off, the cold air meeting your skin.

Your feet touch the hot water and your body follows next, you sat in the bath, trying to relax but your brain was too busy thinking about everything you had to do, so you didn't stay in the bath for too long.

You got redressed and went straight to the notepad on your desk to start writing your essay.

When you finished, some of the weight lifted from your shoulders. You felt confident enough so you sent the email and at the same time, you got another email from your professor with more work, announcing everyone had two weeks to read two books by a selected author of choice.

You felt tears in your eyes. You just finished an assignment and it was piling up again.

Matt who had just gotten home, was trying to be quiet because he thought you were fast asleep. He left his shoes by the door and walked upstairs to the bedroom.

"Y/N?" He frowned when he heard the crying. He walked into the room and when he saw you at your desk, he headed straight for you.

"What's wrong?"

You didn't look at him, embarrassed of your crying state. You shook your head and put it down so he wouldn't see your face.

Matt grabbed your chin, making you look at him. "Babe, talk to me. Are you hurt? Are you in pain? Tell me and I can help"

You struggled to talk.

"Okay, let's go lie down in bed, yeah?" He picked you up and took you to the bed.

He lay down beside you and you rested your head on his chest, getting his shirt wet with your tears. He rubbed your back, trying to calm you down.

He finally heard your voice.

"It's the college, Matt" you said against his chest.

"What happened? Did someone do something to you?"

"No, no one did anything. It's just a lot" you grabbed Matt, not wanting to let him go. "I just finished an essay that was 500 words, but then our teacher sent me another email saying I had to read two books in two weeks but I already have a test and a group project and-"

"Babe, look at me" he cupped your cheeks, making you look at him. "Study is important, but do you know what's more important? Your well-being. So, tomorrow, you'll be taking a break with me with no studies. You are burning out babe and you aren't going to be able to do anything"

"Matt, I can't. I have to finish the studies. I need to start studying for the poetry now" You tried to move away but Matt grabbed your waist.

"No, you're staying in bed with me. Tomorrow is Friday, our lazy day. You don't have class and I don't have work. On Saturday and Sunday, I'll help you study for your test and the project, how does that sound? I'm not letting you overwork yourself"

"I don't want to bother you, Matt. You don't have to do this for me" You said, hugging him and hiding your face.

"Hey, none of that. You never bother me, okay? I want to help you and I will. How was the pizza you ordered for dinner?"

"I forgot to have dinner" you smiled awkwardly when you saw him frown. "Don't be mad"

"Babe, you need to eat. Last time you nearly fainted"

"I'm sorry, Matt"

"Don't apologise. Let's go to the kitchen"

He helped you up and held you so you wouldn't fall.

"My little genius"
