From the minute Matt found out you were expecting your first child, he knew he wanted everything documented. He captured moments in your relationship, but from then on, he wanted to capture it all. Doctor's appointments, every craving you had, every heartbeat and kick. You both waited so long for this, and it was finally here and he wanted to make sure that no moment was forgotten. From telling friends and family, building the nursery and your baby shower.
At the start, being quiet was a way to protect you if the pregnancy didn't work out like your doctor warned could be a possibility. It took you two years to conceive and the thought of going through a public miscarriage was scary. So when you knew you weren't going to lose the baby, you'd gone so long without announcing it, there wasn't a point to do it.
The choice not to announce it to the fans wasn't a hard one to make. Matt was private, and everyone knew that. He was rarely on social media. You both just wanted to enjoy the pregnancy without strangers opinions and it was easy to keep it under wraps.
The timing helped too. The early stage of your pregnancy was in summer, so you could enjoy your holiday without being worried about being seen because you weren't showing. At the end, it got harder to hide.
That's when the rumours started. But, no one could prove anything. But, the lack of sightings from you was enough. Matt stopped answering questions based on your relationship in car videos when he heard about the rumours so he wouldn't have to lie or feel uncomfortable.
The birth of your baby boy was traumatic, but you couldn't have asked for a sweeter baby boy. Born on a Friday, on the 9th of March, Grayson Christopher Sturniolo was born, surrounded by family that loved him dearly.
The hospital was great at keeping it under wraps too. No tik tok videos or whispers about the newest addition to which you were thankful to be allowed to enjoy his first week home, getting used to being new parents.
"Y/N!" Matt exclaimed, walking into the nursery as you fed the baby, his phone in his hand and a smile on his face.
You looked up at him, slightly offended. "Don't call me by my name again" you joked, stroking Grayson's cheek.
Matt laughed. "Sorry, babe. But here, look"
He held his phone in front of your face, playing the edited version of the pregnancy and birth journey in video form that Nick kindly put together for you after the birth of your son. You couldn't have picked a better person to raise a baby with.
"I think we should post it" Matt said, making your eyes widen.
"Like social media?"
Matt nodded. "We can't keep him a secret forever. I'd rather announce it on our own terms instead of it coming from someone else. I've already talked to Nick and Chris about it. I love him so much and I feel like I need to show people that"
You smiled, stroking Matt's arm and then pulling his hand and taking it up to your mouth to kiss it. "Okay. We can post it"
Later, the internet was blowing up and your phones were going crazy. On both instagrams, you both posted a picture of the baby's hand, with the caption 'the newest Sturniolo..link in bio' which directed to the video on Matt's channel.
