Oh my god, 100 chapters 🙈

It was a joke between you two. One that started at the first 'I love you' and the second anniversary. But now, coming up to your fifth, it was tiring.
You and Matt had a cheeky, flirty relationship and it was your biggest joy to get a rise out of him. So when he brought up house hunting again, you raised your eyebrow at him through the mirror as he shaved.
"No ring, no moving in together" you called over your shoulder and he laughed.
Matt wanted to buy you a home. One to share and have a life together in. You were the woman he wanted those things with and living together made sense, didn't it? It wasn't like you spent a night apart and it would save you the trouble of going to get his mail when he wasn't there.
But Matt knew the deal. You didn't want to share a home without a ring. You loved Matt and wanted to spend your life with him, you knew the next step was to get engaged.
Matt was stubborn. He always thought he'd do everything else first, get a home together, have kids and then maybe get the piece of paper.
And that was okay, until you saw yourself as the woman for him, and him as the man for you.
You didn't want to wait five years for a proposal and having Matt's children, without the commitment marriage would bring.
You woke this morning with a tickle on your nose and you raised your hand to brush away the itch. You opened your eyes slowly, to find Matt over you, smiling.
"Morning"
You grunted as he pulled the blankets down from under your chin.
"Can I help you?" You grumbled, pouting, attempting to wrestle from his grasp.
"Get up"
"Why?" You whined, knowing that whatever it was, could wait because it was only seven in the morning.
"It's a surprise"
Your trousers hit you in the face before you could respond and Matt's eyes went wide, before laughing.
You pulled your sweater around your body as you followed Matt to his car.
Matt's mood was weird this morning. His speed was reckless and you were shocked when he didn't stop you connecting your music to the car radio.
Matt liked to surprise you, to see your face light up, but he never acted like this. The only time you seen him like this, was when he planned a surprise birthday party for you, full of your friends and family. Then it strikes you. He's going to propose.
That's why he held your hand and kissed your knuckles.
You were nauseous by the time you hit the highway. You'd no idea where your nerves came from, but you guess it was from waiting for this. You mentally prepared yourself for every word he said when he turned to a residential street. He pulled in front of the most beautiful home you'd ever seen. You felt like being sick, but Matt took your silence as shock, not disappointment.
Now you were stood in front of the beautiful home, but you've never felt sadder in your life. Matt was smiling widely, holding paperwork, but it all said he didn't want to marry you.
"What do you think?"
"Matt.." you started, cut off by his rambling about wanting to show you the kitchen.
He was so excited. You numbly followed him through three rooms before he asked what was wrong with you.
"Take me home, Matt"
