"Lilith!!!"

As soon as Lilith opened the door to the apartment building, Jia welcomed her with a warm hug. The little child wailed so hard that mother Amelia had to take her away so Lilith could get inside. Lilith shut the door behind her and took a look around the room.

"Well, it's been a long time since I've been here, and so much has changed."

Mother Amelia asked, "Have you had dinner, dear? If not, there is food in the cabinets."

Lilith nodded and proceeded to the kitchen. She opened the cabinets and discovered a number of tinned items. Mother Amelia motioned for Jia to go upstairs and sleep, which the small girl agreed to after saying farewell to Lilith. Mother Amelia sighed as she sat on one of the bar stools and observed the crease on Lilith's forehead.

Mother Amelia questioned, "What drew you and that young guy back to this camp at such an ungodly hour? Is something bothering you?"

"We came without a warning," Lilith chuckled, "and so much has happened in just one day. We were attacked, myself and Timothee, even Y/n and Carlos."

Mother Amelia was concerned.

"Consecutively?"

Lilith pinched her lips shut as she grabbed a knife and opened a can of tomato sauce before joining Mother Amelia at the table. At the same time, the doors opened on their own, and a man in black entered, looking at both girls before closing the door behind him.

"Oh, Timothee! You should come and eat as well," Mother Amelia suggested.

And they spent the entire evening discussing the newest occurrences until no one was left below.

--

Carlos sluggishly entered the apartment door and observed that no one was awake except for Mother Amelia, who was engaged reciting lines beneath a lamp.

"You're back so early?" asked Mother Amelia. Pressing her palm flat on her open Bible.

Carlos scraped behind his neck. "Yes, Y/n is supposed to wake up in about five minutes, so I had to go get some of her things and bring them to her."

Mother Amelia simply nodded and whispered, "Just be quiet since the couple and the girl are sleeping like a baby."

Carlos pursed his lips as he ascended the stairs. Careful not to step on the wood too hard or else it'll make a creaking noise. After the long fight, Carlos didn't actually think that climbing ten steps would be so tiring right away especially since he's a soldier. He never skips leg day and to think that he carries heavy armor all day, his shoulders never slouched so far down like right now.

"senhor tenha piedade de mim.." Carlos sighed. (Lord have mercy on me..)

Finally, he reached the corridors and stood in front of the first door which leads to his girl's room. Carlos gently gripped the knob and twisted it, as he opened, a cold breeze brushed past him and the smell of feminine perfume entered his nostrils. A sense of familiarity hit him and reminded him of Y/n's favorite flowers. He scanned the whole room.

"Nothing's changed." His lips curled slightly.

The room was kept tidy and Y/n's things are in order except for her gadgets that are scattered on the bed and-

"What the hell are these?" Carlos frowned as he approached two metal cabinets standing side by side on the right side of the bedroom. Almost occupying the entire space left. The cabinet has double doors with two handles on each side. A sturdy chain holding them together, fastened with a padlock.
