Arabel's POV
I sighed as I drove closer to the house, my family house. I could hear the loud music shaking the house to its foundation, which meant Kevin and his bandmates were around. Chloe squealed from the backseat and started singing along with them while Cyrus chuckled. I remembered the night she returned from the festival, how she kept going on and on about how I'm the sister of her crush and how lucky she is to meet me. She eventually refused to leave even if her flight was ready as it granted her the opportunity to spend time with the boys. It'd been over a week since then and she spent every day with the boys. Steven was keeping her safe from Kevin and the other crackbrains. I wish they weren't around though. I wasn't sure it was safe to introduce Cyrus to Kevin for the first time in front of an audience, especially my parents. Still, I had to. Cyrus needed to return to his people and I planned to go with him but for me to do that, my family needed to meet the man I claimed to be in love with.
I parked the car and I caught sight of Bevin staring at us with excitement, her face pressed to the glass. She turned and screamed something to someone inside her bedroom before disappearing from sight. This is going to be a stressful meeting. Chloe jumped out of the car and adjusted her skirt. For obvious reasons, she wore an android green button-down denim skirt, an antique white cold-shoulder crop top, and chunky heels. She even went as far as wearing a little makeup and accessories. She was undoubtedly trying to get Kevin's attention. Look at who I'm trying to help.
Cyrus, who had also stepped out of the car, stretched on his toes. He wore a simple, tight polo shirt so that when he stretched, his muscles bulged against the thin fabric. I'm not sure if he intentionally wore something to display all his hard years of training or if he just did what men do; pick a random shirt and throw it on. He wore bootcut jeans and you know, boots to go with it. His hair was a bit of a mess, a sexy mess that is. The hell he was hot and he knew it. So, because he was breathtakingly hot, I stared at him. I'd noticed that Cyrus had this glow to him when he stood under the moonlight and the sunlight, he was a mini sun. Even though Cyrus had a godlike beauty, the fact that he was a werewolf gave him a certain oddly breathtaking beauty. This beauty was mine.
I nodded my head with appreciation and gave myself a tap on the back. My years of loneliness paid off well. I got out of the car just as Bevin came running out of the house, squealing with excitement. She stumbled over her steps after being blinded by Cyrus's good-looking face. Cyrus acted instinctively and moved, catching her before she fell to the ground. I looked around worriedly, hoping no one saw that. Well, someone definitely did, Amabel. She was leaning on the balcony, sipping a glass of pink lady or some kind of pink drink, I'm not sure. She was staring intensely at Cyrus as if trying to penetrate his mind. Or maybe she was. I averted my eyes back to Bevin and Cyrus. Bevin was staring at him awestruck, her mouth open wide.
I sighed and walked up to them. I grabbed Cyrus by the bicep and dragged him along. Chloe followed behind, leaving Bevin to keep staring into space. I led them into the house and the first person to block our way was Belda and Declan. Belda was somewhat hiding behind Declan, clutching his shirt in her hand tightly. Guess she still had a little fear in her. "Belda, Declan, this is Cyrus and his… niece or something like that, Chloe. Chloe, Cyrus, these are the eldest of the quad I told you about."
"Nice to meet you," Cyrus said, stretching his hand out to Declan who smiled awkwardly. Declan doesn't shake people, I forgot to tell him that. Cyrus disappointedly retracted his hand.
"S…sor…ry," Belda stammered, "Declan is a clean freak so he doesn't shake people's hands, especially boys." She spoke clearer with every word. Cyrus muttered an ‘O’ and then stretched his fist out. Declan smiled and bumped his fist against Cyrus's. Just as their fists touched, Kevin bulldozed Declan out of the way and threw himself on Cyrus like a girl, squealing incoherent words. Certainly talking about werewolves. His bandmates weren't too far behind him. Steven and Declan had to peel Kevin away from Cyrus who was busy laughing out of pure amusement. It was too hard not to be amused by Kevin's antics. I noticed how Chloe was blushing and stealing glances at Steven which was odd. I thought she had a thing for Kevin. To make everything more suspicious, Steven kept glancing at her as well.
