Cyrus's POV

“Just tell me what your problem is with me, Cyrus! Tell me one thing about me that is irritating you so much!” her voice reverberated in my head, echoing like the sound of sirens. What exactly is my problem? I have always been an angry one but my anger toward her was uncalled for. It started after I received the mail containing photos of her previous boyfriends and all the people she has slept with. It wasn't right to be that angry, but every time I saw her, something in me snapped and I ended up hurting her feelings.

“When you're ready to shove your damn ego aside and act as a responsible husband and mate, you can come to find me in my sister's house because I'm done with this toxic alpha nonsense you have going on…” I lost her, I've already lost her.

I threw Avian on the floor in the middle of the ballroom, at his father's feet. The whole place quiets down immediately. His father, Joe, crouched and held his son with a look of concern. He gulped as he raised his head to look at me. There was no doubt they all heard our fight. "Cyrus, what happened? What did he do this time?" He asked with fear.

"Why not ask your goddamn son," I snarled.

"Avian, what did you do ?" He asked panickingly. Like he didn't already know.

"I only tried to kiss his mate, no big deal," he said nonchalantly, brushing his bruised lip with his knuckle. A growl rumbled in my throat and I took a step forward, ready to slit his throat open. Cyra grabbed my bicep and pulled me back.

Joe, on the other hand, gasped, his eyes flying wide open. "Avian!"

"No big deal, huh? You tried to rape my mate and you say it's no big deal?"

   "Cyrus, please, I'm sorry. He's just a little b…"

"Don't tell me that shit! If he's a little dog, then put him on a leash!!!" Everyone knew I could be ruthless when angry. My temper had always been a flaw and ironically, the key to the success of my pack. The boy, not even older than my sister, dared to kiss my mate and she wasn't even trying to stop him. Or maybe she was, but that unquenchable temper made my wolf and me furious. I knew she didn't want to kiss him back and she couldn't stop him because he was stronger, but she should have at least put up a fight. I smelt no fear in her, just annoyance so she should have done something to prove that she didn't want it.

"Ever since we formed an alliance, I have done nothing but honor our deal. Even if your pack gives me almost nothing in return, I still help and support you. I earned myself a daring nemesis because of your pack! I have Lucas and his rogue army waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike me because I saved you and your pack. I shouldered the sins of your son, this bastard! I saved his life after what he did to the daughter of a fucking vampire lord! I paid the price for him and what did he do for me in return? He tried to rape my mate!"

"I will pay the price for his mistake, just spare him, please,"

"From this day, I cut off all ties I have with your pack. Now take your nasty son and leave my premises!!!"

"Joe," mom called softly, "just go, for now, he's angry. I will talk to him when he has calmed down." Mom said softly.

“Where are you?” Arabel asked through the mind link.
