Lynn's POV

I stole a glance at Krystal who had been quiet since she announced she knew about the princess. She wasn't one to talk in the first place but she was being awfully quiet or maybe I was reading too much into it. She didn't have a smile or frown on her face. She simply played with the food Frost brought from home but she still ate it. It was his dad's cooking so she naturally felt compared to eating it but was still eating hesitantly. I couldn't tell if it was because she was upset or because she felt nostalgia. Either way, she didn't look happy or sad.

The other problem was how most of the guys kept staring at her. I knew they couldn't see the similarity between her and Frost, I made sure of that. They were mesmerized by her cuteness as much as I was. Well, more than I was because I was still anxious. A quiet woman is a deadly woman. That fact is a hundred percent true.

I sighed and looked at Frost and Raf who were having a good time. Raf was feeding him and he was grinning from ear to ear. Lucky dick. He gets to be with his mate while I walk on eggshells around mine. It's just not fair. Yet again, this might be my karma. "I still can't believe how badly you guys mess up your mission. I thought making a mess of everything was my job. Since when did you guys become my successors?" Ayden asked with bafflement, his cheek resting on his palm. It was no secret that we messed up in the other world, even though the details weren't accurately given.

"I blame Lenius a hundred percent," Lunaria said firmly. "If it wasn't for him, we would have succeeded to an extent! The dick blew everything up with his jealousy! Seriously? What was he thinking? Grandma used to tell me that Lenius was a friend of Wynter and was basically obsessed with… oh shit!" She cupped her mouth with both her mouth and looked at Frost with wide eyes. Frost's body had tensed. Even though Wynter was right next to him, reacting like that is a default for him. It'll take a while to get used to it and I was glad he hasn't gotten used to it because that might become suspicious.

Frost's shoulders sagged and he continued to eat like nothing happened. Ria sighed with relief and stuffed her mouth to stop herself from talking any further. Ayden, as usual, didn't take the hint and continued. "Yeah, that's true. I remember that when we were kids, Lenius only showed up when Wynter was there. He had a huge crush on her like Raffy had on—"

"You moron!" Aida shouted, giving his head a hard smack. "Read the atmosphere for once! Take a hint!"

"Ow! What did I do?" Ayden cried, holding his head and bending his body away from annoyed Aida. She growled and folded her hand into a fist to punch him, but Darrell grabbed her by the waist and carried her to the other side of the chair so she was sitting next to Raf. Ayden, still not getting the hint, spoke again. "Geez! Woman, you're too violent. I remember Wynter used to—" he choked as something entered his mouth and hit his throat. I looked at Krystal who threw the thing, a small green bean. Raf and Aida snickered.

"There you guys are!" That familiar voice. I turned to my side and saw Ruby approaching us, waving her hand vigorously with extreme exhilaration. Another girl walked behind her. She had yellow hair and red eyes with a petty body and well, she was short. For some reason, I thought of Lenius the moment I saw her. "Miss Sage!" Ruby shrieked when he got to us, well, she went to Krystal specifically and bowed energetically.

   "Humph," Krystal said uninterestedly.

"Miss Sage, can I be permitted to speak your praises? If this is the appearance you wear in your real world, then I must confess that—" she burst into a bout of coughing. Krystal flicked another bean into her throat. She now looked like she would rather be anywhere else. The woman will never take compliments from strangers and considering how almost everyone is a stranger, life must be pretty tight for her.
