Krystal's POV
Chirping sounds made their way into my ears. It was the first thing I heard before I started hearing murmurs. I groaned and sighed, then tried to remember the event of the previous day. It started with defeating the champion, returning to the castle, having Lynn and Frost fuss over me because they think I'm sick, and waking up… I sat up immediately with a gasp, a strong tightness in my chest. I placed my hand on my chest and groaned, remembering the pain I went through because of him.
Merlynn cheated on me.
"Why?" I sobbed, bringing my knees to my chest, "Why did he do that and why did I feel it? I'd rather not feel it," I didn't know how to place my emotions but I was certain this was heartbreak. I wanted to break everyone's heart as well and destroy happiness. It was a bitter experience of vengeance, depression, and heartbreak.
«Most importantly, where are we? And where's Lynn?» Wynter cried. I was shocked to my bones. She was still worried about him? I looked around and it seemed like I was in a tree house.
«Why are you—»
«Unlike you, Lynn's wolf and I established a space for us during the short minute his cock was buried inside of you. I know him, I can sense him and that night, I was the one urging you to go to him because his soul was crying to be saved. Merlynn didn't cheat on us, Krystal, he was under control» I stared into space with my mouth wide open in shock, disbelief, and… speechlessness. I didn't know what to say or how to react.
«Before Flynn was suddenly blocked off, he told me Merlynn was worried sick about you so he wasn't listening to his warnings about the fishy substance in the drink the pink vomit gave him. Lynn never listens to Flynn so he drank it anyway, and while he was going to find you, she activated the spell.»
«No spell ought to be strong enough to brainwash my mate!!!»
«That is what I don't know. We have to find Lynn and figure out what she has done to him.» Wynter said anxiously.
«Where is she?»
«Dead.» Excellent.
I threw away the sheets and stood up. I didn't know where I was but I was going to leave and find out. As I approached the door, Faelly stepped in with Frost and the redhead. My heart jumped with joy when I saw Frost and without being able to control my body, I ran towards him and threw myself in his arms, breaking into humiliating tears.
Frost held me in his arms, allowing me to rest my face on his chest and weep. He stroked my hair affectionately and patted my back. "It's okay, don't cry. Lynn didn't hurt you on purpose,"
"I know but—"
"Shh," he whispered. I don't know how long I stayed in his arms but after that, I felt better, like nothing ever happened. I sat on the bed, snuggled up in his arms with his fingers buried in my hair and Faelly comfortingly stroking my back. "Ruby, tell her what you told us," oh, the redhead was still there.
"Nice to talk to you again, Miss," she started with a curtsey. "My name is Ruby, sorry that I didn't introduce myself before. I'm going to go straight to the topic and tell you what I have to say. I wasn't sure at first but I looked into it and found out that the princesses used a forbidden potion on your mate," I knew that part. I looked at her, urging her to go on. "The potion is a potion created by an old black witch. It invokes desire, concealing the mind of the victim and replacing it with an illusion. The potion is so powerful it's capable of destroying the soul of the victim and creating a new one that lives for the caster. After the potion was used on the late King Spencer Alexander the Tenth, it was forbidden and slowly went extinct. I don't know how the princesses got their hands on it."
