Lynn's POV
I was finding it hard to concentrate. There was a stimulating fragrance in the air and when I said stimulating, I meant it. Each intake of the scent sent blood rushing to my cock and it seemed to be getting stronger. I had a large tent in my pants, a reckless wolf, and a heart beating as though it was going to jump out of my chest. The scent wasn't something that is supposed to cause this kind of reaction. It smelt a lot like snow, starflower with a hint of sweet box shrub. I'd always had a thing for starflowers and sweetbox shrubs, and my wolf loved playing and sniffing the snow but this was unusual. The scent wasn't just making my heart race and my cock stand erect, it left me in a disoriented state.
I sat next to Ayden and Frost, close to them that is. Ayden and Frost shared a seat, mine was right beside theirs and I sat alone. Frost, who was closer to me, glanced at my wood and arched an amused brow at me. "Didn't you just smash two girls and a guy at the same time? How are you this horny again?"
Ayden's head snapped toward our direction. He threatened to kill me if I slept with anyone, but he forgot I'm the king of discreetness. He looked at my pants too and arched his brows in amusement too. "Why do I have a feeling it's not as simple as it looks," he asked with amusement.
"Because it's not," I hissed, covering my boner with my hand, "Ayden, did you bring a bouquet of starflowers to school again?" I whispered. Didn't want to get noticed by the teacher today. Thank goodness she wasn't a shifter.
"It's not your birthday, so why should I?"
"Getting to that. What about you, Frost?"
"Am I as stupid as Ayden?"
"Hey!" Ayden exclaimed. The teacher turned and looked at Ayden. He winked at her, causing her to roll her eyes back to the board.
"Who played in the snow today?"
"In late April, really?" Frost asked, rolling his eyes. Then what is this? "I don't particularly like rolling in the snow. It reminds me of her. Have you forgotten or are you trying to annoy me?" He replied snarkily. The door opened and the invigorating scent gushed into the room. I looked toward the door as my heartbeat leveled up. Frost glanced at me with concern. He was the only one besides me who could hear past my barrier and listen to my heartbeat. "Are you okay?"
"I'm not," I grunted, returning my gaze to the door. Behind the season bitches was a masked figure. Her tight clothes didn't make guessing her gender impossible, and the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew what she was to me. My wolf broke into a howl in my head, causing me to drop my face in my palms. Sweat broke out from my forehead and it felt as if my heart was about to kill me with how faster it was beating.
Oh goddess, why? Why did you do this to me? What did I do to deserve this? I didn't ask for a mate.
«She's here! She's finally here!» My wolf chirped, dancing around in my head. I call him Junk. It would sound funny but my wolf and I hate each other's guts. We don't agree on anything. I wished he didn't exist and he wished I would get run over by a train. If it wasn't for the fact that we were bonded, he would have skinned my damn ass and I would have cooked a good meal out of him.
«Shut up, Junk.»
«Don't tell me what to do, abandoned cow»
"Sorry, we are late. This is Krystal Sage, she is not to be disturbed because she's an X-mark student so please, for your own good, stay away from her. End of introduction." Raf said churlishly. The brat. They walked toward their seats which weren't too far from mine. Raf shared a chair with Aida so the masked one walked to the only empty seat in the classroom, mine. I shifted further to the edge away from her, lifting my spying at her through my fingers. I gulped when I felt her glance at me but her eyes were off me and on Frost.
A small smile spread on her face, not nearly as bright as Frost's but bright enough to destroy my sanity. "We meet again, pretty boy,"
"Right back at ya, Killer Mask," Frost said with a smirk. She chuckled a bit, glanced at me one more time, and looked straight ahead. "Should I care what's wrong with him?" My heart skipped.
"He's not worth it," Aida and Rafaelia said synchronically. My mate humphed, which felt more like a knife to my heart. Frost threw his head back and burst into laughter. He figured it out.
Fuck!
Frost's POV
Merlynn, the unlucky mother fucker has found his mate.
Welcome to my misery, buddy.
Of all the girls that the goddess had to pair him with, she chose the mysterious one that is capable of causing more harm than good. It was pure coincidence that I met her again, or maybe not. I mean, I met her yesterday and she's my best friend's mate today? It's no damn coincidence. It was my chance to pinpoint what my attraction was toward her and who she is. She had to be someone important because I wasn't curious about anything. She was wearing a similar mask to the one she wore the last time, and her lips were still colored black. I could see more of her skin and she was indeed cream skinned with her gunmetal blue eyes.
"Why don't you tell me how you met her?" Lynn continued to pester me.
"Stop asking me questions about her, I don't know her." I whispered-yelled at Lynn.
"Calm down. I'm just asking, she'll look good on my bed." I felt my vision spin, anger suddenly boiled my blood. My wolf growled furiously in my head. A protective warning growl ripped out of my throat, my wolf making his anger known by coming forward. He flinched along with everyone else, including me.
"Back off," I snapped. He raised his hands, face expressing confusion and disbelief. Everyone stared at me confusedly, shockingly, and horrifically. I averted my gaze to her, she was looking right back at me and her gunmetal blue eyes clouded with amusement.
"Sorry," I murmured more to her than anyone. She rolled her eyes back to stare ahead. Everyone returned to their usual activities while I wondered why the hell I got pissed.
