Krystal's POV
"No, you nitwit! I didn't say two, I said nine double cheeseburgers, six plates of fried chicken, four chicken steaks with extra spice on two of them, three servings of Mexican beef tacos with each serving of seven tacos, two grilled turkey and pressured cooker chicken spaghetti for the lady. As for drinks, just give us something bubbly that will wash down the meal perfectly. You better get it right this time!" Aaron screamed from the other end of the phone, in the background. I heard another guy's voice correct the drink order and Aaron snorted. "You know I don't like lemon flavor, Karter,"
Faelly, who was the receiver of the call, giggled. "These boys, I tell ya. When they get together, they really know how to eat down a house,"
"Tell me about it," I agreed, chuckling slightly. I placed the phone between my cheek and shoulder and picked up the left pair of my shoes. "So how's the mission going?" I asked, slipping my foot into the rhinestone ankle strap heels. There was a sudden incident at the Spring Flower Tower, Rafaelia's castle. She was unable to live in the house because she was yet to fully master her powers.
There was a sudden attack on the castle and the small town around it. Since Faelly couldn't handle it alone, her brothers, one of Aida's older brothers and Aaron's assistant, Karter, along with Aida herself, left to settle it. Aunt Raquel decided it was time they tried to claim their crown so after dealing with the problem at the castle, Rafaelia would try to wear her crown. If it's successful or unsuccessful, they would head to Aida's and try hers too.
I couldn't go with them for obvious reasons. I needed to stay with Merlynn since I was yet to officially introduce myself to his family and sort out the issue. Frost couldn't leave because my visit to Dad made him so shocked he went into a coma, so Frost was taking care of the pack in his stead. It'd been two days already and I hadn't seen Merlynn because I was busy with the final stage of my plan against the bitch trying to take him away from him. It was finally time to meet his family.
"Well, we've almost arrived at the gate. Once we get to the gate, we'd be able to cross over. I wish I had full access, we wouldn't have to go through this long journey," Faelly said, expressing her frustration for not being strong enough to wield her full powers. Lenius and I were always ahead of them, even till now. I was already ready for my title as guardian and witch of winter, but there was still a bug sitting on my throne.
"It's alright, Faelly. I'm sure things will get better,"
"I'm not going to lie to myself. I don't think I'm ready yet. I can feel that I am not worthy of that position yet. Aida is ready and has been for a long time. But me—"
"Rafaelia, you worry too much. You feel like you are not good enough but yet you can already control the season at will—"
"Have you forgotten what you asked me to help you with," she said pitifully, "I couldn't sustain it for more than three days. It's not supposed to be like that. I should be able to maintain it for as long as I want,"
"You haven't received your crown," I pointed out, then realized that was kind of a lame excuse. I haven't received mine either and neither has Aida. Aida's level of tolerance is almost immaculate. Faelly was undeniably the weakest among us.
"Aida hasn't either," she said bitterly. Well, I wasn't the best person to comfort someone. I cared about her but not enough to comfort her. She knew I suck at that. "Krystal, I need to get stronger but I don't know why I can't grow stronger than this,"
"You'll feel better if you talk to Frost," I said blatantly. There was silence for a few seconds before she laughed. "Sorry, I'm still working on the whole comfort thing. If I tell you what is really on my mind, it'll sound too harsh. You might not be able to handle it,"
