Lynn's POV

After breakfast, Lenius, Krystal, and I followed Prince Nicolas to the stables. I had to hand it over to them, their stable was grand and the running field was magnificent. The lands are linked to a forest which I'm sure is also part of the racing field. The sun wasn't hot in this area and the breeze was abundant. What was more incredible were the horses. Each horse was a unique type to see. They were different in strength, height, colors, and aura. I could tell that the horses in this realm managed a lot of magic, more than the humans.

"Incredible," Lenius said with awe to himself, and I couldn't agree otherwise. That's one thing we had in common, our love for horses.

I looked at each horse, my grin widening with every new powerful one I came across. "So, that horse is pink," Krystal said disinterestedly, "and why is it running my way?" The horse was a pretty little thing. Her body was pink and her mane was a darker shade of pink. Her eye color was somewhere between pink and red, and she had a tiara on her head. She also reeked of strawberry and pink, lots and lots of pinks.

"Oh, that's Princess Rose's horse," Nick said, watching the horse as it approached us.

"Figures," Lee said with a chuckle. The horse reached Krystal and tried to rub her head against Krystal's face, but she stepped back with a look of horror in her eyes.

"Why is it trying to touch me?"

"She," Nick corrected, "and that's probably because she likes you. I don't know if it's the same as your world but horses here react to the energy or essence of a person and through that, they choose their riders or owners. Most horses are born in only three colors; black, brown, and white. They are called Regulars. When a Regular chooses its rider, they change to the inner color of its chosen. A few are born with colors already, and those few are called Destinies. They can only have one owner. If anything happens to their owners, they pass on as well." Nick explained calmly.

"This is definitely different from our world,"

   "Are riders different from owners?"

Nick nodded. "Riders are considered temporal owners. When they leave the horse, the color remains until the next rider is chosen. A few times, a horse who has already been ridden can find a permanent rider and make him or her its owner. Destinies are stronger than Regulars. Even if a Regular later finds an owner, its power only increases by a few percent. It can never catch up to a Destiny whose powers also grow the moment they find their owners and also depending on how stronger their bond is. Pretty decent, huh?"

"Wicked," I grinned. It would have been nice to have a permanent horse, but I wasn't sure if their laws would apply to ours. "How long does a Destiny live?"

"As long as their owners," he replied, petting Princess on the head. "Princess is a Regular, but she is the strongest one this world has recorded. And to top that, she's a female. She's as strong as a Destiny who just found its owner. We believe that if she finds an owner, her powers might surpass any horse in our history." He said with excitement. Princess returned to Krystal, trying to rub her head against her face. Krystal awkwardly stepped back continuously, swatting her hands to chase the pink horse away but the stubborn animal wouldn't listen.

"Why is this one troubling me?! Get it away from me!!!" Krystal screeched as she began to jog away from the horse. I looked at Nick and raised a questioning brow at him. He looked perplexed.

"Nick, what's up with the Barbie horse?" Lee asked, and the expression on his face mirrored mine. We had the same suspicion.

"Even if a Regular has a rider, it can always leave that one and choose its owner," I was right. Princess has chosen Krystal. Why in the world will she choose Krystal of all the people in this… she's not from this world so that's even more suspicious. "Rose is not going to like this," Nick muttered. And neither is Krystal. She wasn't someone who adored pets.
