Samuel isn't doing very well, so send him some love if you can. He needs it.

Also, is Arkham Steven scarier than Canon Steven yet?

No? Well, let's make him scary then! :D

Third Person Omniscient.

Moonlight follows Steven to a local food joint he called Fish Stew Pizza. She wasn't sure what any of those words meant, all that mattered was that it was a joint Steven visits to get out of the sun. Steven sits down in a chair and Moonlight sits down in front of him.

They've both chatted more, Steven sharing more little or trivial facts about him, like color preference or favorite food, etc.

"So, Steven..." Moonlight finally found a way to speak in her meek voice without strain. "What is your stance with the Diamond Authority?"

"What do you mean?" Steven asks, almost puzzled.

"Pink was close to them, what about you?" Moonlight inquiries. "Are you the same way with them?"

Steven took his time answering the question, which gave Moonlight the obvious implication that this wasn't a simple question.

"It's complicated." Steven answered, unsure if that was the truth. "I consider them acquaintances, not by choice since they are hard to get along with. I don't mean like they're still the same as before, they just have a very hard time adjusting to the new era."

"I can only imagine." Moonlight comments. "To be told that they've been doing everything for the past few millennia is wrong and only given a few days to start a new era is difficult to manage."

"Hey, I managed to change the world in one night." Steven chuckles, "I think they can adapt more calmly and less dramatically in a few days."

Moonlight pasues. "Speaking of which... How did you do it? How did you change Homeworld for the better in the span of one single night?"

Moonlight was genuinely curious to how Steven managed to survive the gauntlet of fight the Diamonds, Moonlight, Huge Gigantacus, the cubic-haired peridot and hundreds of common gems in one night two weeks ago.

Steven silently smiled. "I just... did it. I moved forward and kept going, despite the many setbacks."

"But that requires a lot of physical and mental endurance and motivation." Moonlight continues. "Not anyone has the willpower to do that."

Steven rewards her a small smile. "I appreciate that. It wasn't easy."

"And you've done it all by yourself?"

"Well, not exactly." Steven leans back in the chair. "I had Peridot provide me technical assistance, Lapis provided me with aerial surveillance, Bismuth gave me the blueprints of several buildings. The rest provided me fodder assistance, like the collecting of bubbles of gems and helping fend off unremarkable foes. And I did the heavy lifting, which is basically everything else."

"So, you work alone?"

"I prefer it." Steven sips on a glass of water. "Because it means that no one else gets hurt."

"Don't you... Don't you ever need someone to be at your side, watching your back?" Moonlight asks.

"Sometimes, yes. Which is why I have Obsidian." Steven answers. "She's my partner."
