Apologies for my hiatus. I had to stop writing after the controversy involving "Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League."

Third Person Omniscient.

Upon being teleported back to the castle, Rosemary immediately shooed away her sisters so she and Steven could talk alone.

"What you've done for me... I won't forget that." Rosemary uttered softly, sounding genuinely touched by his action. "But I must ask, why? Why did you do that?"

"Because I didn't want to leave you there."

"Why, exactly?"

"Because I know you've changed, I've seen you change." He admits, his voice still normal - but she could sense a bit of earnestness in his tone somehow. "Gnomus claimed you to be this evil witch, and I learned what you really used to be, before I met you. And he may or may not be true at that, but I know that you've flourished into something better. You've learned how humans have changed and given it a chance to be a human. You're trying, and I can see it. I didn't want you to rot away in a cell because of your past self, even if some of your decisions have caused me great pain."

She was flabbergasted at his speech. She had a feeling that he did it purely because he's nice or that she's a friend, but this was better.

"Steven..." She touched her stem, bare chest that prodded out from her cape/cloak. "I... I don't know what to say..."

"You don't need to say anything. A simple thank you will suffice." He replied, his face indifferent to the endearing moment.

And then she floats close to him, her arms opening for a hug. He accepted her invitation and allowed her to embrace him, her thorns slightly pricking his body. He patted her cape, feeling the bean-pole back.

They were like this for a minute or so before he had to gently push her off of him.

"I have to go back to Homeworld. There's a lot going on." He said, feeling a bit guilty to cut his time short with her.

"Oh right... HG is causing trouble. I completely forgot." She stumbled back from him.

"When this is all done, we can get back this." He offered, sounding sincere in his deadpan expression.

She was taken by surprise with that, but hid it with her excited feelings. "Is that a date?"

"It's something." He replied, sounding slightly more optimistic, but still keeping his focus at the main goal.

And with that, she teleported both of them back to Homeworld.

Earth:

Spinel had rescued the others from their robotic counterparts, simply by being another gem added to the fight. The robots weren't expecting another fighter, but they still tried to stop her. In case you're wondering how the fight went, it went as anticlimactic as one could expect.

What did you think would happen once she intervened? That it would be some sort of awesome fight? That only happens in movies, silly.

But what happens after the robots are destroyed is what's important.

"You saved us?" Amethyst asked while scratching her head.

"Y-Yeah..." The fuschia jester nodded timidly while standing next to cluttered scrap metal.
