Steven finally finished preparations for Spinel's new cell and then called Phoebe to ask her if she came to a decision. It may be jarring because it had only been about eight or nine hours since they both last saw each other after their dinner at IHOP.

Even though Steven hasn't slept since two days ago, he feels remarkably well-rested for some reason and he hasn't drank anything caffeinated since he took Phoebe home. It felt magical that he's unaffected by exhaustion.

Anyways, Phoebe said she could look after Howard until Spinel's sentence has been lifted... which won't be for a long time.

Now all he has to do is bring them to his house so Phoebe can pick him up and Spinel can be moved to a safer place.

He warps to Homeworld and heads straight for the penitentiary, ignoring any nearby gems asking him about what happened on the news - he just wants to get this over with.

When reached Spinel's cell, he finds her and Howard playing a game of cards - which abruptly ends after his shadow looms over them.

"Where did you get cards?" Steven asked, genuinely curious.

"You didn't exactly confiscate anything from me, heh..." Spinel sheepishly smiled.

He lowered the destabilization barriers of her cell. "Come on, it's time."

Both of them stood up (after Spinel hurriedly picked up and shuffled the deck of cards) and followed Steven.

As they passed by the cells, some prisoners began jeering at him while the two hid behind him.

"Hey, Steven, how was that kiss?" A loud prisoner comments, making her cellmates laugh.

"Did you come here to kiss Spinel?' Another one comments, then she makes kissing noises to further mock him.

"Moonlight's gonna break you again, Steven!" Someone else said from the background but neither of them could see her. "She's not gonna let that slide!"

For some reason, Spinel cringed at the word 'break' with Steven being in the same sentence.

Finally, they reached outside and away from those prisoners and any other nearby gems who would swarm him with questions. This gives them both Spinel and Howard to contemplate while they walk with Steven in the snow.

Howard shivered from Homeworld's temperature and Spinel instinctively scoops him up in her arms to help keep him warm. But gems don't produce body heat, so she's doing a poor job at trying to keep him warm.

Steven notices this and stops to give Howard his jacket. "Take this, it will keep you warm."

Spinel sets him down. "A-Are you sure? What about you?"

"I'll be fine." Steven deflects, sounding passive. "He could get sick in this weather."

After Spinel gives him a nod of approval, Howard takes the jacket and puts it on - the coat being a little too big for him and it drapes down to his knees. It felt heavy, probably because his gadgets are still in the pockets.

Which is why Spinel and Steven both silently panicked when Howard grabs the Explosive Gel in the pocket.

"What's this?" Howard innocently inquired while holding the gadget with both of his hands.
