Third Person Omniscient.

If you asked Steven if he had to read a children's book to a five hundred plus year-old plant, he would probably believe you. Crazy and near-fictitious situations like this hardly surprise Steven anymore since he's expected this after his two years of training.

There was no textbook or academy for being a Crystal Gem - or ever encountering unique specimens like Moonlight or Rose The Flower - so he always expected/assumed the worst in his career.

Right now, he's watching the 2012 movie of The Lorax by Illumination studios - the same studio responsible for the Despicable Me franchise. Normally when he watches movies, he always pops a bag of popcorn with some Diet Pepsi - he avoids sugary drinks when possible.

Possibly the only time he drinks anything that wasn't water. Even though he is half a Diamond, Steven is still human and has human needs. He drank a lot of water for his training and before going to Homeworld for the first time.

He drinks a lot more than what any human could drink in a day with the amount of cardio and exercise he performs.

But now, he drinks nice, cool water on the couch with Rose - who is curled up in a pile of vines on a royal, fluffy pillow a few inches away from him. Steven has seen this movie enough times that he could close his eyes and let his mind play the images of the movie for him.

But now he's observing it with his new friend... at least, he thinks they're friends.

It would surprise him if she said they aren't friends. They've been talking for a month and they're watching a movie now. Surely they went from acquaintances to friends, right?

Rose watches this movie carefully, as if she's studying it so she could take some sort of comprehension test. Steven almost laughs at how seriously she's taking this movie. At first, he thought she was just comparing the movie to the book and old cartoon in 1972.

But when he was half-way through the movie, he realized that she's using this movie to reconsider her stance on humanity. She is seriously using this children's movie to help her decide whether or not she should continue loathing the race that created her and the movie.

When the movie was over, Steven turned off the TV and looked at the flower to see what she was doing. Rose appears to be stuck in deep thought - perhaps she didn't see the quote at the end of the movie.

"Rose?" Steven reaches out to touch her petal-hand, but immediately recoils his hand when he sees her react to his 'unexpected' gesture.

"What?" She glances at him like she had woken up from a nap.

"What did you think?" He inquires.

Rose looked at the floor and then back at him. "Was this a musical or some weird movie with a lot of songs?"

"Isn't that what a musical is?"

"Answer the question." Rose asserts with a slight stern and growl.

"Yes, I think it was." Steven answered, a bit sheepishly at the flower's passive aggressiveness. "Do you like musicals?"

"They annoy me."

"Oh..." Steven felt bad for making her watch the movie. "Well, what did you think about the plot?"
