Samuel and Volleyball were incapacitated and moved to a secure room while Professor Moonstone remained waiting just outside the door.

The other door opened up and Squaridot stepped in. "You said you have my human?"

"Yes. But I could only retrieve one on short notice." Moonstone explains while keeping her hands together, interlocking her own fingers. "He's just inside that room."

Squaridot moved past the professor and opened the door to find Samuel and Volleyball unconscious - both of them looked like they were beaten until they were forced into slumber.

"Why is there a pearl with him?" Squaridot points. "Is that White Diamond's pearl? Where did you even get them?"

"I should be asking you what you intend to do with this human." Professor Moonstone looked down at the small gem. "If you answer my question, I'll answer yours."

"Seems like a fair trade." Squaridot contemplates. "I constructed this mechanical suit to be used as bait for my next puzzle that I've spent quite some time creating to stump Steven Universe. The suit's intended purpose is to crush the victim to death from the inside whenever Steve fails to solve my puzzle in time or if he gets it wrong. And I know how much he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he lets another victim perish."

"Ah, I see you're referring to Spinel?" Moonstone presumed.

"Precisely." Sqauridot nodded. "Now, how did you get them and why is the pearl with him?"

"I've stolen the two from the Palace, since White Diamond has her own pet and pearl - even in the new era. I refuse to elaborate on the pearl's purpose, but I can say that the human is White Diamond's pet and she has grown an attachment to him." Moonstone explains thoroughly.

"Oh, I don't care about the human's story. I was merely curious about the pearl." Squaridot scoffs with a slight chuckle. "As far as I know, this human will be minced meat before the night is through."

Professor Moonstone lightly chuckled back. Not because of Squaridot's callousness, but because of her arrogance.

"Well, you may take the human now. But the pearl will remain in my custody." Professor Moonstone finally refocused on the topic.

"Good, because I don't have anything planned for the pearl." Sqauridot said as she went back in the room to retrieve Samuel.

Elsewhere:

Steven found another informant, this one tried hiding from him. But she was unfortunate that Steven had Detective Mode and could spot her basically anywhere near him.

He lifts her up high in the air by her throat. "Tell me what you know about Squaridot..."

The informant slightly gagged. "Screw you!"

She tried to punch Steven, but he caught her fist and flipped her over his shoulder. She hits the ground and only has a few seconds to process what happened before Steven stomps his foot on her face to keep her pinned.

"Let's try that again..." Steven eerily said, his eyes hidden by the shadow of his hair.

"Okay, okay! I'll talk!" The informant fearfully replied.
