Chapter Thirty-Nine: Dinner Time

Third Person Omniscient.

Moonlight ventures forward in the basement, silence fills the room. She hasn't heard that voice in so long, she needed a few seconds to process it and listen to it again in her head.

She took bigger steps to quickly follow the voice and then she stopped when she spotted two individuals that she recognized. One of them is the human who helped bring her Spinel and take down the rebellion's troops.

And the other is Dark Moon, aka Black Star - her long lost sister.

"Oh bright shining stars..." Star cursed under her breath in fear.

"Black Star..." Moonlight said in disbelief, but then she smiled. "Oh, it's been far too long since we last saw each other..."

She towered over the black gem, who shares the same facial features as her - even dental structures and voice patterns.

"I can't even remember the last time we were together..." Moonlight said with a smile on her face.

"I do..." Star replied, trying to get in front of Samuel so Moonlight doesn't go for him first - giving him the opportunity to escape before she could get him. "You ate our mother..."

"Oh..." Moonlight's smile dropped, remembering the past - but then she remembered something else. "I also remember how you said I wouldn't have made it on my own."

"And look how right I was." Star folds her arms, her fear being replaced with some anger. "You lost your position as governor and was just fired from a company that you bought. Now you're just the same as when I left you - a power hungry orphan."

Moonlight stomps her boot on the ground, creating a large spiderweb crack that makes both Samuel and Star tumble over on the ground.

"AT LEAST I MADE SOMETHING OF MYSELF BEFORE THAT MISERABLE STEVEN UNIVERSE RUINED IT!" Moonlight roared at them, looming over them like a giant. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR THE PAST--"

She paused when she noticed the servers behind them, these are the secured servers that are linked to the main security server in her office - back when she owned it. And judging by the fact that the screen on it said that it's last upload was yesterday - the same date and time from when the controversy hit the news - it was enough for her to know what really happened.

"You..." Moonlight growled, her eyes turning black with her silver pupils illuminating a litle light in her soulless eyes. "You two... You two are the ones who sent Starlight Productions the file... You're the reason why I lost everything..."

"Actually... I did, he had no part in it..." Star admits, still being afraid of what's going to happen to both of them.

"I DON'T CARE!" Moonlight yelled, her nails growing long enough to serve as knives. "You're both DEAD!"

Moonlight lunged her sharp hand at them, but Star quickly grabbed her 'tickle stick' - which is a hand-held gem destabilizer - (the same one Jasper used to poof Garnet in the show) and used it to jab her sister's hand.

"AGH!" Moonlight clutched her injured hand.

Both Samuel and Star flipped onto their feet in a synchronized motion and dashed past the former governor to escape through the emergency exit that leads up to the surface and out of Crystal Entertainment. Just as Samuel was the last to leave, he slammed the door shut on Moonlight's hand - the same one Star hurt - and crushed it.
