Looks that kill

Gathered in a house, old friends reunite,
Bringing their girlfriends for a lively night,
Laughter and talk fill the cozy space, But beneath the surface, something hides its face.

The girls converse with honeyed words,
Pretending kindness, as is often heard,
But behind their smiles, eyes watch with envy,
Jelousy and disdain, a deadly frenzy.

Looks that kill, their gaze a sharp blade,
Cutting each other, silently conveyed, Their words may be sweet,
but their eyes speak truth,
A battle of appearances, a fight for youth.

And as the night draws to a close, They smile and wave, as friendship goes,
But their eyes roll, a hidden expression,
As they leave with their boyfriends, with no concession.

The hypocrisy and girl fighting, a story so old,
A tale of appearances, with secrets untold,
Looks that kill, the silent battle they wage,
In a world of envy, where friendship is a cage
