There was a guy with a job to do,
But he didn't want to kiss up to you.
He said, "I'm sorry, I wasn't trained
To be a kiss-ass guy, it's just not in my brain."
He didn't want to suck up and flatter,
Or do anything that might make him look like a chatter.
He'd rather do his work with pride,
Than be a suck-up and take it in stride.
So when the boss came calling, offering a promotion,
The guy just shrugged and showed no emotion.
"I don't want your job," he said with a grin,
"I'm happy doing what I'm doing, let me begin."
And so the guy continued on his way,
Working hard and not kissing up every day.
He may not have climbed the corporate ladder,
But he's happy with the job that makes him feel fatter!
