School Shooting Tragedy

Innocent children sit at their desks Unaware of the fate that they will soon be met
Their eyes glued to the chalkboard up ahead
While outside, danger lurks instead

Another day, another school shooting The tragedy never stops, it keeps on moving
Families torn apart by senseless violence
Their pain and grief, beyond any semblance

We hear the politicians make their empty promises
Yet, the problem still persists, it continues
Their words fall flat, just empty rhetoric
While we watch as more lives are lost in tragic metrics

How many more must die before we take action?
Before we stand up and demand real solutions?
Our schools should be a place of learning and growth
Not a battleground where innocent lives are loath

We can no longer ignore this epidemic
It's time to come together and make a change systemic
Let us fight for the lives of our children and their dreams
For they deserve a future that's safe, and it seems,

That the solution is not in thoughts and prayers
But in action, and in taking real measures
To end the senseless violence, to stop the pain
And ensure our schools are safe for our children again.
