Regulating guns in America

In the land of the free and the brave, Where dreams are made and lives are saved,
A problem plagues us, day by day, And its name is the gun, in every way.

From coast to coast, from sea to sea, The gun is a constant reality,
It takes lives, tears families apart,
And leaves us with broken hearts.

From schools to malls, from churches to streets,
The gun strikes with deadly feats,
And yet, some would have us believe, That the answer is more guns to relieve.

But we know that's not the way,
For each death, we must surely pay, And the time has come for us to say, That we must regulate the gun, without delay.

For the sake of our children, our friends, and our kin,
We must demand change, and we must begin,
To make it harder for those who would do harm,
To obtain the weapons that cause such alarm.

It won't be easy, and it won't be quick, But the alternative is too tragic to stick,
So let us rise up and take a stand,
For a safer America, and a brighter land.

Let us speak out, let us be heard,
For the lives we save, and the dreams deferred,
For a future that's free of fear and pain,
Let us regulate the gun, and break its deadly chain
