The first thing Len said the morning after the practical exam was delightful, "Fuck you All Might, fuck U.A., fuck everybody."
Her body was still sore from all the beating but at least she had just a patch on her cheek and some bandages around her right leg and stomach, the others were all gone. Recovery Girl went a little overboard as always.
At least it was a sunny, warm day which running to school because she didn't hear her alarm and Izuku had to call her while already on the train. Four times. Four times before she picked up the phone.
When Lenora reached the school and opened the door, everyone was cheering for some reason.
Izuku's eyes went to his friend and he almost collapsed. That morning she probably didn't have the time to take a look in the mirror so she surely didn't notice the little horn that was chilling on the left side of her head.
"LEN!"
"Shimizu, you're finally...", Aizawa stopped, his eyes on the little horn.
"Hey, Len...", Mina's enthusiasm died sawing something different in her friend.
Lenora felt her classmates glaze on her, specifically on her head.
"What...?", her hands scanned the point and they hit something hard and a bit curved.
Katsuki's eyes were wide open; he was informed that Lenora used her almost-full form to save him but the last time she did it, everything disappeared. No residual horns or tail.
Len tried to laugh it off, "Oh, that's strange, isn't it?", she bowed to Aizawa, "I'm sorry for being late, Mr. Aizawa. This morning I felt like complete shit and didn't hear the alarm."
The teacher sighed, "Don't use such words in class, Shimizu. Today I'm feeling parsimony so you can take a sit and we'll move on from this."
Len thanked the hero and dragged her feet to her desk, sitting down, trying to breathe normally.
Why was the horn still there? Didn't she deactivate her quirk? Maybe she shouldn't have used that rune so recklessly.
"So, as I was saying before being interrupted, everyone will go to summer camp, but Sero, Kirishima, Ashido, Sato, and Kaminari had to attend supplementary lessons. A failure is still a failure."
Lenora was happy her friends would come to the camp too, but her mind was still searching for some answers.
Katsuki watched Lenora from the corner of his eye, noticing how her foot was tapping rapidly on the floor and how she was torturing her gelled nails with her teeth. He was pretty sure her eyes didn't blink since she sat down.
The boy had patience 'till lunch break and when the bell rang, he didn't waste any second. Jumping up from his seat, he took Lenora's forearm, forcing her to stand and follow him outside the class.
