Katsuki was woken up by an agitated Uraraka running inside his hospital room, yelling.
"Bakugou! BAKUGOU, WAKE UP!", she shook him awake, waving four pieces of paper in her hand, "PLEASE! PLEASE!"
"THE FUCK ARE YOU SCREAMING FOR, ROUND FACE?!", he plopped on his elbows while the girl practically fell on the edge of his bed, tears rubbing fast down her cheeks.
"They're gone...", she whispered, shoving the letters on his chest, "...they're gone."
After Uraraka, more of his friends came into the room, everyone with letters and crying faces. They looked devastated.
Just two people were missing from the group.
Katsuki looked down at the papers, recognizing their handwriting.
His heart sank deep.
They were gone.
Lenora felt her phone buzz for the hundredth time that day.
Her friends didn't stop pestering her with texts, phone calls, and voicemails, trying to reach up to her, and contact her somehow, but nothing worked.
Katsuki was the most insisting of them all.
He texted her since he woke up, and she lost count of how many 'please, come back' she read from his chat, and she willingly ignored all the 'I love you'. She didn't want him to keep loving her despite her hurting him badly. She kept her device on only for Izuku to warn her about incoming villains or criminals in the area, leaving her to peacefully research whatever she was searching for. He didn't question her, but he was hella curious about it. Was it about her family? Or maybe Tenko. Or her power? It was probably for her quirk. To find a way to save Tenko but destroy Shigaraki too.
He couldn't wrap his mind around it.
It was the first week of April when they left U.A., not knowing when they'll be able to return home, both determined to save the people they loved.
They would their best.
Whatever it took.
On the third day of Deku and Len being gone, Katsuki finally realized they weren't going to come back soon.
It was fifteen days before his birthday and she promised, she promised, they would always be together for each other's birthday. She fucking promised.
How could he fall for that lie?
He knew what Lenora's nature was.
He knew what Deku's nature was.
They were specular.
They didn't understand how much they were special.
They didn't get it.
