"No stepping too close to the glass, no touching, no screaming and mostly no quirk using. You have one hour. If something happens, we're on the other side of the door," the police officer warned the boy, "clear enough?"

"Yessir, thank you."

The man looked down at the kid and his green jeans overall, a shirt that was obviously not his under it and a book in his hands. He recognized the hero from the Great War, but didn't know why he was there and what he had to say to the villain he fought so damn hard.

Would he read him a book?

Or what else?

He didn't know, but he was damn curious.

"And kid, one last thing," he placed the key in the hole, his right hand already on the doorknob, "be careful."

The kid nodded, smiling, "Don't worry about me, sir."

The officer let him into the room, not looking directly at the villain behind the glass, still scared about the young man trapped there. He was fast closing the door behind Deku, leaving the two of them alone.

Tenko was sitting in the far corner of the room, a thick glass separated him from the good boy who was now lowering on the ground, sitting cross-leg in the middle of his side.

"Hi", Izuku greeted him.

Tenko ignored his voice, his head turning so he didn't have to watch him.

"I had a hard time convincing them to let me see you, I just wanted to talk", Izuku tried again, hoping for a reply that never came.

He sighed and opened the first page of the book he bought with him, "Alright, I expected this to happen and that's why I have this with me," he briefly lifted up the object, so Tenko could read the title on the cover, "this was one of her favorites, so I thought you would like to read it with me. If you don't stop, I'll read the entire hour, and I'll keep doing it every day I'll come until you'll open up with me."

And Izuku did as he said for the remained two months of summer.

He was there on Len's birthday, on the rainy days, on the hottest ones when everyone tried to think about happy things going to the beach, on lanterns' day, every morning he was there, reading for Tenko, who didn't let a single word escaping from his mouth until the start of September, when the school's department decided it was time for the kids to start their lessons again; they had to face the reality. Finally, they could return to study to be heroes.

"I won't be able to come as often because of school, but I'll do my best to..."

"Read me the last page."

Izuku was brutally interrupted by the ex-villain groggy voice.

He was reading 'The brothers Karamazov' to him, a very big book and in two months they still didn't finish it. But they were very close to it. Tenko could see it. When Izuku was too deep into the reading, he took glances at him, taking notes about how many pages were left 'till the end of it.
